Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 368

Cooper’s phone had stopped recording, but the conversation in the private room still came through loud and clear.

Krystina, now in control of his phone, asked, “Want me to just delete the video now?”

“Hold on,” Emmy said.

Krystina stared at her like she’d lost her mind. “Hold on? If we wait any longer, Starlight Corporation’s secrets are really going to be out there! What are you even thinking?”

This wasn’t something to mess around with. Krystina owned her own company—she knew exactly how important trade secrets were.

Emmy met her gaze, calm as ever. “Let them have it.”

Krystina was floored, ready to shake some sense into her little protégé. But Emmy just added quietly, “Those USB drives? I set them up ahead of time. What’s on them could bankrupt any company dumb enough to use it.”

Krystina’s mouth dropped open. She just stared, speechless for a few seconds.

“So… this is a setup?” she finally managed.

Emmy nodded. “Something like that.”

Krystina let out a low whistle. “Then those board members really pulled it off. They could win an Oscar with acting like that!”

Meanwhile, inside the club, three assistants rushed in with the USB drives.

Cooper didn’t trust anyone—not with these old foxes around. He whipped out his laptop, plugged in each drive, and started checking the files.

Emmy had known he’d double check. The files were actually from a college project—a fake tech company she and her friends had built for a business competition. She’d run simulations back then, and every time, the company went bankrupt.

She’d left it gathering dust until now. After a few tweaks and swapping in Starlight Corporation’s logo, no one could tell the difference with a quick look.

Sure enough, Cooper’s face lit up with greedy excitement.

He tucked the drives away like they were gold. Even so, he kept his phone up, grinning at the three board members, who looked like they’d just seen a ghost.

“If I’d known you were this easy to trick, I wouldn’t have bothered getting you drunk,” he said, his smile sharp. “Now get ready for the scandal.”

Right in front of them, he tapped his screen, posting the damning video online.

“You—!” One of the board members choked out, all three of them going pale. None of them had thought Cooper would stoop this low.

He didn’t think twice. There was only one thing to do—run.

With a loud crash, he smashed his phone on the floor, shattering the screen, grabbed the USB drives, and bolted for the door.

“Now! Get me to the private airfield!” he yelled at his waiting aide.

On the security feed, Cooper looked like a total mess, practically tripping over himself.

Emmy’s eyes turned cold. He’s trying to run.

She was about to call the police when James’s name popped up on her phone.

She answered right away, words tumbling out. “Cooper’s trying to escape—if he’s running now, he must be relying on Claudia’s connections. I’m hanging up to call the police!”

Cooper was the defendant. If he tried to flee, the police could detain him until trial.

On the other end, James’s voice was deep and steady.

“Don’t worry. He’s not going anywhere.”
