Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 416

Evelina had just started to step forward when she heard the accusation. Instantly, she switched to her most wounded look.

“Dean, you’re here. This employee was badmouthing me in front of everyone. I was just following the company rules—”

She didn’t even get to finish before Dean grabbed her wrist, his grip so tight it felt like he might crush her bones.

“Ah—!”

Evelina yelped in shock as Dean yanked her forward, dragging her with zero gentleness. Her stiletto twisted under her, nearly making her fall, but he didn’t even slow down.

He shoved her into the director’s office and slammed the door behind them.

She barely had time to find her footing when his hand closed around her throat, pinning her hard against the wall.

“After all the horrible things you’ve done, you still have the nerve to use my name to throw your weight around?”

“Evelina, do you really think I wouldn’t kill you?”

Dean’s eyes were bloodshot and wild, his voice low and cold, like something straight out of a nightmare.

Evelina was choking, sheer panic flooding her as she clawed at his arm, wide-eyed and terrified. She’d never seen Dean like this—he looked like a completely different person, someone who could really hurt her.

Just when she thought she was about to pass out, his grip suddenly loosened.

She crumpled to the floor, gasping and coughing, clutching her throat with shaking hands.

When she finally caught her breath, she looked up at him, tears streaming down her face, her voice trembling.

“Dean… what’s going on? What did I do? Why are you doing this to me?”

Dean glared down at her from above, his eyes as cold as ice, filled with nothing but hatred.

“My mother. You killed her.”

“You tried to blame Teresa, made me turn against her, made me take it out on Emmy.”

“You’re just like your mother, Evelina. Poisonous to the core.”

Evelina’s mind went blank from fear. She grabbed at his pant leg, shaking her head over and over.

“No, Dean, I swear, I didn’t—”

Unless… unless it was Emmy.

In that moment, everything made sense. She’d always known those so-called achievements were just her hacking pieces out of Emmy’s system. She’d never loved this job, never had the true talent for it. How could she compete with a real genius?

Emmy must have planted something in the system, and Evelina never realized.

Now, the thought of Dean seeing all those ugly, twisted secrets she’d buried made her start shaking violently.

Desperate, Evelina crawled toward Dean, reaching for his ankle. But when she saw her hands dripping with blood, she recoiled in horror.

“Dean, it wasn’t me… It was all my mom’s idea!”

“I never wanted to do any of this, you have to believe me. None of it was what I really wanted…”

Dean didn’t even hesitate. He pressed his shoe down on her fingers.

“Ah—!”

Evelina screamed, the pain sharp and unbearable.
