Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 434

Sweat was already shining on Emmy’s forehead, tiny beads glistening beneath the harsh light.

She frowned, voice tight with focus. "They’re good. Give me ten more minutes—I swear I can break through."

The tech guy never took his eyes off her, not even to blink.

There was something almost unreal about the way she worked—her hands flying over the keyboard, code streaming by so fast he could barely keep up. Some of her moves he couldn’t even understand, and her style was just as sharp and unpredictable as his old mentor’s.

But the data stream didn’t lie—she was definitely hacking, pushing hard to breach the firewall.

He couldn’t help it. For a second, he wondered—is she really attacking? Going head-to-head with a pro on the other end? Or… is she just buying time?

Hot sweat slid down the side of Emmy’s face. A single drop clung to her lashes, threatening to fall into her eye and blur her vision.

She barely managed to wipe it away with her shoulder, but her fingers never stopped moving for even a second.

This was a gamble.

She was betting that the man behind her wouldn’t figure out the new trick she’d just picked up from her teacher. If she paused—if he managed to analyze even a little of what she was doing—she’d lose her only shot at getting herself out of this mess.

At that exact moment, Krystina got Emmy’s desperate final message.

She almost shouted into her headset, her voice sharp with panic. "Something’s wrong! Emmy says she only has ten minutes! Hurry up—find her exact location!"

Time was running out.

The military’s tech team moved so fast their hands blurred, zooming in on the digital map while endless streams of data snapped together like a spiderweb.

"Got it!" someone yelled.

"We’ve confirmed it—signal loss and heat imaging match up!"

A tech jumped to his feet, jabbing at the red dot on the screen as he rattled off coordinates. "Longitude 98°34'12. Latitude 21°52'45."

"She’s in South America. Some place called Pagan."

"That’s Pearl’s base—one of the Golden Triangle’s top drug lords."

Krystina couldn’t hear the techs, but her voice suddenly cut through the comms, frantic.

"This is bad! They stopped attacking my account—the signal’s dead!"

James leaned in, his voice low and steady. "We’ve got the location. Thank you."

When the top brass heard what happened, they gave James just four words: Do whatever it takes.

Because Emmy wasn’t just his wife. She was Mrs. Nelson—part of the Nelson family. And she might be carrying the next heir.

If anything happened to her, or their child… there’d be no way to answer to the Nelson family’s patriarch.

But this wasn’t the right moment to take down a drug lord.

James didn’t care.

He couldn’t wait. Not even for a second.

Still, as team leader, he had to save Emmy and keep his men safe. Even as panic burned in his chest, he forced himself to stay calm.

His eyes stayed on the satellite map, fingers flying over the touchpad, zooming in again and again.

He kept enlarging the image until the red dot blurred and turned into a messy blob of color.

He narrowed his eyes.

"The location isn’t actually Pearl’s stronghold."
