Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 467

This time, the numbers flying across the screen were ten times denser than before.

Less than ten seconds later, a sharp beep cut through the air.

"Beep—"

"Life signs detected. Third floor, east-side air duct. Target is hanging upside down, heart rate forty-five."

One of the team members was instantly tagged.

More lines popped up.

"Life signs detected. First floor, bottom of the abandoned water tank. Target fully submerged, breathing through a hollow reed, heart rate forty-two."

"Life signs detected. Fourth floor, behind the high-voltage box in the electrical room. Target is curled up, blending in with the old cables, heart rate forty-eight."

The notifications kept coming.

Infinity's system just kept reporting, even listing a swarm of rats darting through the building. Every movement was marked on the 3D map, crystal clear.

The team members hiding in the building stared at the screen, frozen. Not a single sound.

Then, one by one, they started crawling out of the old building—each one dirtier and more beat up than the last.

The guy from the water tank was dripping wet, staring at Emmy like she’d grown a second head.

"Emmy, this Infinity thing is unreal!"

"I was wedged in that duct so tight, I could barely breathe. How did it even find me?"

"I’m done. You win. I surrender!"

Will wiped the grime off his face and shot Emmy a thumbs up. "You’re amazing, Emmy!"

Emmy just frowned at the info on her tablet.

"The system works, but the data’s still not accurate enough."

She looked up at James, eyes shining with that stubborn, techy spark.

"These are only static readings. I need live, real-time tests in a crazy environment."

She hesitated, then asked, "Is there… any building we can actually set on fire?"

James pointed at the rundown building in front of them, voice low and totally unbothered.

"This one. Burn it down. After, I’ll have the contractors blow the whole thing up and put up a new one."

Emmy blinked.

Well, that solved that.

"Leaving it up to fate?" Abriella’s eyes went wide, and she grabbed Emmy’s arm, practically shaking with excitement. "So if you really did get pregnant, you’d keep it, right?"

Oh my god, yes! Abriella was doing a happy dance in her head.

This meant Emmy wasn’t against the idea of having a baby. She wouldn’t even think about getting rid of it.

Emmy watched her friend’s reaction and just shook her head, smiling.

"Getting pregnant isn’t that easy. It’s not just about wanting it. Even if I did want a baby, it’s not always up to me."

"After the competition, I’ll talk with your cousin. If we really want to try, we’ll need to see a doctor first."

Just saying the word "doctor" made Emmy’s heart skip a beat.

Before she’d been kidnapped, her doctor had told her she might already be pregnant, based on her checkup.

Then everything happened—kidnapping, escape, shootouts—she’d been running on adrenaline, no time to think about what the doctor said, or that report she never picked up.

Even waking up in the hospital, her head had been full of the trauma and her system’s debugging—not that conversation with the doctor.

Now, looking at Abriella’s hopeful face, the answer she’d been avoiding hit her all at once.

Emmy’s head snapped up, eyes wide as she stared at Abriella.

"I’m pregnant, aren’t I?"
