The camera wasn’t just on Emmy. Half the attention had shifted to Evelina, standing on the other side of the stage.
She looked like her fans had all but pushed her forward, her expression the perfect mix of shock and hurt. When she took the mic, her voice trembled, as if she’d just been wronged in the most dramatic way possible.
“Emmy, you know how many nights I stayed up building DUO, line by line. That code is my heart and soul... How could you do this to me?”
“I just can’t believe you’d actually do something like this... I never thought you’d be that person.”
When words just aren’t enough, sometimes all you can do is laugh.
And Emmy did.
Some people are just unbeatable when they have no shame at all.
She couldn’t help but be impressed by Evelina’s ability to twist everything around, play the victim, and accuse others with a straight face. Wasn’t she afraid that one day karma would finally catch up to her?
From the judges’ table, a deep, steady voice suddenly rang out, clear through the speakers.
“It’s too early to make any judgments. As for who copied whom, our committee will conduct a full investigation and get to the bottom of this.”
Andrew’s tone was completely impartial, but there was a weight behind his words that made everyone stop and listen. “We won’t accuse the innocent, and we definitely won’t let the guilty go free.”
Evelina looked completely unfazed.
She’d already filed for a patent on the whole system, just in case Emmy tried to fight back with evidence. Once it was approved, DUO would officially belong to her, end of story.
What could Emmy possibly do now?
But Evelina’s confidence lasted barely a few seconds, because Emmy’s next words wiped the smug look right off her face.
“Sorry to disappoint some of you,” Emmy said, her voice calm and even.
“The AI system I’m bringing today isn’t DUO at all.”
“It’s called Infinity—a fully integrated emergency rescue AI for firefighters.”
A fire engineer strode onto the stage, carrying a sleek, black drone case that looked like something out of a sci-fi movie. He set it down on the demonstration table, steady and sure.
On the giant screen above, the image of the home robot blinked out, replaced by the imposing silhouette of a heavy-duty rescue drone, all sharp lines and futuristic metal.
Evelina just stared, her face shifting from disbelief to outright panic.
“It creates its own secure, encrypted local network, so even if all other signals are down, the drone and the command center can still communicate with complete accuracy and security.”
The entire arena, which had been buzzing just moments ago, went dead silent.
Everyone was stunned by the vision Emmy had just painted. It sounded like something from a blockbuster sci-fi film.
Even the judges—top tech experts from around the world—were wide-eyed, totally hooked, as if they were seeing something truly groundbreaking for the first time.
In just two minutes, Emmy had every single person in the room hanging on her every word.
She set the mic aside and started typing fast on her keyboard.
On the big screen, the display split in two.
On the left, you could see her computer’s live interface.
On the right, the rescue drone’s camera flickered to life.
“Infinity, start.”
