Dumped My Cheating Ex. Now I'm Sleeping Next to a Billionaire CEO novel Chapter 507

The easygoing look vanished from Steve’s face, replaced by a coldness that made everyone tense up. So, all this time, she’d been blaming him.

A bitter, self-deprecating smile tugged at his lips. How pathetic. He’d been fighting his family for years, just so he could marry her out in the open. In the end, not only did she hold a grudge against him, but now she was going to marry someone else.

Abriella suddenly grabbed Will’s hand. “Let’s go to the balcony. I can’t stand being around him right now.”

As they slipped out of the living room, Steve felt like his chest was about to explode. Frustrated, he dug out his cigarettes and pulled one out, ready to light up. But as soon as the lighter’s flame sparked, he stopped. With a sigh, he tossed both the cigarette and the lighter back onto the coffee table.

James treated his wife like she was made of glass, especially now that she was pregnant. He wouldn’t even let a whiff of smoke linger in the air. Before Steve came over, James had actually called to insist he shower and change into clean clothes, just so he wouldn’t bring any smoke or alcohol smell into the house.

Left with no choice, Steve had washed up, changed, and made sure he looked and smelled fresh before coming over.

All for what?

While the happy couple were in the kitchen, all sweetness and light, he was stuck in the living room, stewing in his own frustration.

After a while, James took off his apron and led Emmy to the couch. Ivy was still busy in the kitchen, finishing up the dishes.

Just then, Abriella and Will came back from the balcony. Abriella’s lipstick was a mess, and there was a bold red stain on Will’s neck.

Emmy’s eyes went wide.

She wasn’t the only one who noticed—Steve saw it too. His face darkened instantly, his mood plummeting.

“Abriella, come with me,” Emmy said, jumping up and pulling her away.

In the bathroom, Emmy handed her a tube of lipstick. “Here, touch up your makeup.”

Abriella didn’t even look at it, just gave a half-hearted smirk.

“No need. I did it on purpose.”

“I hope it drives that cold jerk crazy.”

She grabbed a tissue and scrubbed the leftover lipstick from her lips, determined to erase every trace.

Back in the living room, James frowned at Will. “Go clean up.”

Will touched his neck, finally realizing what everyone had seen. His face turned bright red and he hurried off to the other bathroom.

James turned to Steve, looking puzzled. “What’s going on?”

Steve scowled, jerking his chin in the direction of the balcony. “You saw it. Your cousin’s heartless.”

He wanted to break free from his family’s hold and build a life of his own.

Now, he finally had the power to divorce that woman.

But just as he was getting ready to do it, his beloved grandfather fell seriously ill.

He couldn’t let the old man pass away with regrets.

So here he was, still secretly married.

He knew Abriella cared about him. She was such a fool—once, when she was drunk, she’d even tried to seduce him.

But he couldn’t let his own selfishness turn her into the “other woman” everyone would point fingers at.

He’d been planning to set everything straight, then show up at the Sullivan family’s door and ask for her hand the right way, give her the kind of wedding she deserved.

He never expected that sending her on one simple trip to the border would end with her falling for Will.

Steve glared at James, jaw clenched. “If I’d known sending her to the border would make her fall for one of your guys, I never would’ve asked her to deliver that package to your wife.”
