Enchanted Nightfall Falling for Destiny (Quintessa and Tyrone) novel Chapter 410

The place where these high-society ladies gathered for their card games was always of the utmost sophistication. Mrs. York had arranged for their latest game to be at the Luxe Haven Club in Tyrone, where the manager was bending over backward to cater to their every whim. After all, Mrs. York was considered royalty among them!

The manager had prepared their finest private room and was personally attending to their needs, bustling about with refreshments.

Once all the ladies had arrived, Mrs. York introduced Quintessa to the group, "Quinn, no need to be nervous around these ladies. They're my regular card-playing friends – Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Smith, and Yvonne…"

The ladies had all heard of Quintessa from Mrs. Harrington and had already formed a rather dismissive opinion of her.

Unfazed by their disdain, Quintessa spoke in a soft, seemingly timid voice, "It's a pleasure to meet all of you. I've heard from Cecilia about your card games and was so intrigued that I begged my aunt to bring me along. I'm not much of a card player, but I do hope you'll teach me."

By playing the role of the docile and timid newcomer, Quintessa hoped to lower their guard, making them underestimate her at the card table.

Mrs. York glanced at her watch and said, "Now that we're all here, let's begin…"

Yvonne apologized, "Sorry, ladies, I have to leave early for a family matter, but don't worry, I've arranged for someone else to join, so you won’t be a player short."

Just then, Mrs. Harrington entered the room, exchanging knowing looks with both Quintessa and Mrs. York.

Quintessa thought to herself with a smirk, "Perfect timing for this scheming fox to show up."

Mrs. Harrington smiled, "Apologies for my tardiness."

Yvonne, pulling her aside, said, "You're just in time. I hope Mrs. York doesn't mind that I invited Mrs. Harrington."

"Of course not, let's get started," Mrs. York replied, guiding Quintessa to sit down. "Today's all about having fun, and I'll be right here to guide you."

The others could hardly contain their snickers, thinking Mrs. York and Quintessa were just there to lose money.
