Escape from Mr. Whitman (Emma and Theodore) novel Chapter 478

Fallon watched in horror as Sebastian sent the message. She snatched her phone back and quickly retracted it.

Sebastian's expression soured. "Fallon, do you know who employs you now? Who pays your salary? Emma doesn't say anything because she's kindhearted, but if you were truly on her side, you would have cut ties with him completely. Do you have any idea how much he hurt her?"

Fallon's face flushed. "I… I know. I just hadn't deleted him because of my son's school transfer."

"Even if you kept his contact for the school issue, is there any reason to keep the chat history? You still have messages from five years ago."

Fallon lowered her head. "I didn't keep it on purpose. It just automatically transferred when I got a new phone."

"Well, delete it all now. The chat history and the contact. Get rid of it," Sebastian said before turning and heading upstairs.

Fallon stood there, holding her phone and sighing. She sent a message to Theodore: *I'm so sorry, sir. I didn't send that last message. I hope you didn't see it.*

In truth, Theodore had already seen the message before Fallon retracted it. He knew who had sent it, but he had no intention of responding. It was normal to be possessive of someone you loved. He remembered how much he had loathed Sebastian before the divorce, viewing him as someone coveting his property.

If love wasn't selfish, it wasn't love.

Looking back, he realized he would fly into a rage over Emma's frequent contact with Sebastian, yet he had never cared when Cecilia spent time with other men.

A man approaching thirty should understand the nuances of emotion and the world, but he had been lost in the fog. Clarity only came after he was out of it, but by then, it was too late.

He replied: *It's alright. Go ahead and delete it. I'll be heading to the UK soon anyway.*

Fallon typed quickly, her final message reading: *Sir, as a woman, I can sympathize with Madam, so I have disliked you before. But you were very kind to my Marcia, and I will always remember that kindness. Thank you.*

*You don't have to thank me. I'm a cold person. It was Emma who wanted to help you back then. You can delete me now.*

When Fallon saw his message, she tried to reply with a simple "Okay," but it wouldn't go through. A glaring red exclamation mark appeared next to it.

A pang of sadness hit her as she thought about where her sir and Emma had ended up.
