Chapter 295 The Meteor Shower Promise
“Are you… sure it’s here?”
“Yes.”
Jasper got out of the car first, then opened the passenge door and extended his hand. “Come with me, my little princess.”
The latter part was a deliberate tease.
Her face flushed, and she glared at him. “I’m not going. want to go home! You… Ah!”
The next moment, she was lifted into his arms.
“Hey! Put me down!”
“Behave, don’t move. Your dress isn’t suitable for walking on this path. The branches will snag it.”
She grew even more alarmed.
“Where are you taking me?”
He strode forward, walking directly into the dense woods.
The path was rugged and muddy. Her high heels were indeed unsuitable for walking. Between dignity and a sprained ankle, she chose the latter.
He held her steadily the entire way, ensuring she wasn’t scraped once, until they reached an open platform.
The words that had rushed to her lips were swallowed back, stunned by the view before her.
The platform beneath their feet was a huge rock jutting outwards, standing at the summit. Looking down, the entire city lay at their feet, neon lights blinking like a galaxy scattered across the human world.
It was so close to the sky, almost within reach.
The clouds gradually dispersed, revealing the vast expanse of stars.
It was breathtakingly beautiful.
She instinctively reached out, stretching her hand toward the stars, opening and closing her hand, murmuring, “It’s so beautiful.”
Jasper stood behind her, hands in his pockets, the tenderness in his eyes nearly overflowing.
He whispered, “There will be a meteor shower tonight.”
She gasped, full of surprise. “Really?”
The moment she spoke, a meteor streaked across the sky, leaving a long tail.
Immediately afterward, countless meteors flashed, tearing through the night sky and etching brilliant stellar
streaks.
Their vantage point was perfect, the best viewing platfon, allowing them to be completely immersed.
Tatiana instinctively clasped her hands together and began to make a wish.
She didn’t believe in these things, yet she couldn’t help but grasp every opportunity to pray.
She prayed that Ann’s condition would improve.
She prayed that Hubert would accept her..
She prayed that every future day would be peaceful, joyful, and tranquil.
She prayed under the scattered meteors, her hands clasped. The light from the stars behind her diffused into a halo, creating a vivid picture, and she was the center of that picture.
The starlight was less dazzling than she was.
He stood there, reluctant to blink, deeply engraving every minute and every inch of her into his mind, to deepen the memory with every thought in the days to come.
On the way back, the smile on Tatiana’s lips never faded
It wasn’t until they arrived downstairs, and she was about to get out of the car, that she paused and said earnestly, “Thank you. Tonight’s scenery was incredibly beautiful; it would have been a huge regret to miss
it.”
Jasper turned his head slightly. “I’m glad you liked it.”
Her heart fluttered slightly, but she suppressed it. “Get some rest soon.”
“Good night.”
“Good night.”
He didn’t drive away until her figure disappeared into the stairwell.
Midway, he suddenly received a call from Gordon.
“Return immediately.”
Just those two words, then the call ended.
His face changed, and he turned the car around, heading back to the old mansion.
The next day.
She returned to the company and noticed that the way people looked at her had become strange.
They seemed almost zealous.
Many people even ran directly up to her, pretending to bump into her, and called out, “Hello, Tati!”
She was utterly baffled.
It wasn’t until Anna walked in with a playful smile. “Tati you’ve gone viral outside our circles!”
“What do you mean?”
“Look at the company’s main group chat.”
She opened it and found the group chat buzzing with activity. The top comment read:
“Tati is still wearing a mask. What a pity, didn’t see her al face.”
“Tati hides herself too well! My goodness, she could totally debut right now!”
“Is Tati wearing a mask so we don’t feel inferior?”
