Fake Mate Beta Rises to Alpha Heiress (Natalie) novel Chapter 13

**Chapter 13: Making Me Yield**

**Natalie’s POV:**

On the other end of the line, the silence stretched painfully, punctuated only by the faint crackle of the connection. Grace was utterly speechless. I could almost envision her face, contorted in disbelief. How could I, a mixed-blood Beta known for my submissiveness and quiet demeanor, dare to challenge a formidable Alpha female like her? The audacity of it all sent a thrill through me.

“Alright, Grace. Whenever Anna settles on a restaurant, just inform me. I have other matters to attend to here. Goodbye.”

I didn’t give her a chance to respond; I severed the call with a decisive tap. The dial tone reverberated through the stillness of my office, and a cold smirk curled at the corners of my lips. This was merely the beginning of my defiance.

**Grace’s POV:**

Natalie had the audacity to hang up on me?

That insufferable mixed-blood Beta! It was a privilege for her to even serve meals to the esteemed Richardson family! How dare she show such blatant disrespect now!

“Mom, Natalie refused to come?” Anna inquired from her bed, her voice laced with surprise.

“I believe Landon has spoiled her,” I seethed, my anger simmering just beneath the surface. “A useless creature who can’t even bear a pup, with such an inferior bloodline. Being allowed into the Richardson family was a gift from the Moon Goddess! She ought to be grateful.”

My body trembled with rage as I felt my Alpha energy leak out uncontrollably. The low-ranking Beta servants in the room bowed their heads, their fear palpable in the air.

Anna snickered coldly, “I told you. Her usual meekness was nothing but an act. After all, she managed to ensnare Landon into marrying her despite his obsession with bloodlines. Natalie is far from simple.”

“But don’t worry,” she added with a sly smile, “I have plenty of ways to handle her.”

**Anna’s POV:**

I decided to call Natalie myself. Even though I loathed this half-breed, I had always kept up a friendly front. Besides, my fated mate, James Turner, still worked at the Richardson Group, and much of his business required coordination with Natalie.

I was confident that even if Natalie, that pushover, had dared to stand up to my mother today, she wouldn’t dream of offending me, Landon’s most cherished sister.

The phone rang endlessly before she finally picked up. I immediately adopted a tearful tone, hoping to manipulate her emotions.

“Natalie, do you have an issue with me? I thought we shared a good relationship. You promised Landon you’d look after me. But today, Mom said you wouldn’t even prepare a simple meal for me.”
