**Chapter 33: Lost His Temper Because of Natalie**
**Aaliyah’s POV:**
The space around me felt desolate, as if it had never been touched by warmth or life. The emptiness of the room was palpable, and it struck me that there wasn’t even a lingering trace of her scent, her pheromones having been completely erased. That low-ranking Beta, Natalie, had successfully obliterated every reminder of her existence.
Throughout the day, my time was spent either showing Nathan around the sprawling villa or managing the affairs of our home. The sheer size of the villa allowed me to conveniently overlook her presence, or lack thereof, as I busied myself with my responsibilities.
In my mind, a lowly half-blood Beta should have been nothing more than a shadow—appearing only when necessary to handle the mundane tasks for my Alpha, and never intruding upon our lives. It was easy to dismiss her absence these past few days; in fact, I found myself secretly wishing she would be wise enough to stay away for good.
But never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that she would dare to leave entirely.
“When did Natalie move out?” I muttered softly to myself, a sense of disbelief washing over me.
Landon stood there, utterly bewildered. I could feel the anger simmering beneath the surface, mixed with a tinge of disbelief at being defied. He had always thought of Natalie as a mere plaything, a Beta he could command at will. The idea that she could simply walk away from him was inconceivable.
Suddenly, Nathan darted out from behind me, his small hands clapping together in delight. His instinctive disdain for that half-blood she-wolf who had dared to usurp my place bubbled over. “Great! That bad woman is finally gone! Yeah!”
But Landon’s reaction was immediate and fierce. “Shut up!” he barked, his voice laced with an intensity that sent a chill down my spine.
In an instant, a wave of uncontrolled Alpha fury erupted from him. As he shouted, his hand sliced through the air with alarming force.
“Wah—”
The sound of Nathan’s cry was heart-wrenching. It was his first experience with such violence, and Landon showed no restraint. My little boy crumpled to the ground, the room instantly thick with the pungent scent of fear and pain, mingled with the metallic tang of blood.
My heart seized in my chest. The Omega instinct to protect my cub surged within me, and I let out a piercing roar. “Landon! How could you hit Nathan so hard!”
I rushed to my son, scooping him into my arms. His soft cheek was already swelling, a vivid red mark forming that stabbed at my heart. Tears welled up in my eyes, blurring my vision as I glared at the out-of-control Landon. Without a second thought, I turned and fled back to our room, cradling the injured Nathan against me.
Behind me, my pheromones created a chilling barrier filled with condemnation and disappointment. How could he? How dared he lay a hand on our pure-blood son for the sake of that lowly half-blood Beta?
