Fake Mate Beta Rises to Alpha Heiress (Natalie) novel Chapter 43

**Chapter 43: Apology Video**

**Samuel’s POV:**

As twilight draped the city in a cloak of purple and gold, my phone buzzed insistently, pulling me from my reverie. It was a call from the wolf guard I had sent to keep a watchful eye on Natalie. “Mr. Scott,” he began, his voice tinged with urgency, “Ms. Anderson made an appearance at a class reunion, but things took a turn, and she left prematurely.”

“Investigate the situation,” I instructed, my tone firm but calm. “And if any trouble arises, ensure it’s handled discreetly.” I hung up, my mind racing with possibilities, and approached my mother, Penelope. She was perched by the expansive window, her gaze lost in the shimmering lights of the city below, her expression a mixture of contemplation and concern.

“Mom,” I said, trying to infuse my words with the respect she deserved, “Natalie attended a class reunion this evening. There was some sort of conflict, and she didn’t stay for the entire event.”

“Conflict? What on earth has she gotten herself into this time?” Penelope’s voice sliced through the air, laced with irritation.

I took a breath, carefully selecting my words as I continued, “It appears she leveraged our family’s name to help a girl named Alice secure a project collaboration opportunity tomorrow. She’s been rather resourceful.”

“Just back from her travels, and already she’s out there using the Scott name to charm her way into people’s good graces? If we don’t rein her in, she might start believing the Moon-Shadowed Pack is hers for the taking,” Penelope replied, her frustration palpable.

I nodded, a smile creeping onto my lips as I agreed, “Absolutely, Mom. She’s been a bit too bold lately. Should I remind her of her place?”

Penelope paused, her expression softening momentarily before her voice took on a resolute tone. “No, let her have her little escapade. She’s got a long journey ahead before she can truly claim the Moon-Shadowed Pack as her own. Just keep an eye on her and ensure she doesn’t embarrass herself completely.”

“Understood,” I said, bowing my head slightly in acknowledgment.

**Natalie’s POV:**

As soon as I sent the text, Alice wasted no time finding an excuse to slip away from the reunion. However, when the moment came to settle the bill, my classmates were in for a surprise—the total was astronomical.

Rebecca, who had taken on the role of host, became the target of everyone’s ire. They unleashed their frustrations upon her, forcing her to cover a significant portion of the bill. The humiliation she faced was palpable, and the financial burden weighed heavily on her shoulders.

At one o’clock in the morning, perhaps driven by unrelenting pressure or a deep-seated fear, Rebecca posted a three-minute apology video in all the alumni groups.

In the video, her head hung low, too ashamed to meet the camera’s gaze. Her eyes were puffy and red, and her voice trembled as she spoke. She meticulously followed my instructions, confessing that her jealousy had led her to bully me for far too long. With genuine remorse, she apologized and promised to leave Maritime City behind, seeking a fresh start.

Within moments of the video going live, it spread like wildfire, igniting a frenzy of discussion and shares across all groups. Rebecca then swiftly exited all school-related groups, purging most of her classmates from her contacts, effectively vanishing from the werewolf social scene in Maritime City.

Curiosity buzzed through the groups, with members desperate to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Yet it seemed the classmates who had been present at the reunion had formed an unspoken pact. No matter how much they were pressed for details, their lips remained sealed.

All that trickled out was a murky tale: a confrontation between Natalie and Rebecca at the finance major reunion. Rebecca had been defeated, forced to post the apology video, and ultimately compelled to leave town.
