Chapter 7: A Marriage Alliance
Natalie’s Perspective:
I was still reeling, the surge of power coursing through me refusing to subside. Despite the whirlwind inside, I gave a small, resolute nod.

“My boss, the Alpha of the Silver-Maned Pack, Mr. Sanchez, requests the honor of your company for dinner tomorrow evening. Here is his card.” The man extended a black business card toward me with both hands. The card felt oddly textured—part metal, part leather—and gleamed with a silver embossing that simply read: Leonardo Sanchez, along with a phone number.
I accepted the card silently. Before I could utter a word, the man gave me a brief nod and, without further ado, he and his entourage exited as swiftly and precisely as they had arrived. The atmosphere they left behind was thick with tension, almost suffocating.
Once they were gone, the guards of the Scott family who had been blocking my path exchanged glances, seeking direction from Samuel. His face was clouded with dark anger, his eyes flickering between hesitation and resolve as he glanced toward Penelope.
Penelope’s lips pressed into a tight line. Her eyes darted back and forth between me and the black card in my hand, a complicated mix of emotions swirling in her gaze. After a long pause, she reluctantly waved her hand.
“Let her go,” Samuel commanded through clenched teeth.
I had no idea who the Silver-Maned Pack was or what Leonardo represented, but their presence clearly unsettled Penelope and Samuel. I realized I had to get away. Clutching the smooth, cool card tightly, I didn’t hesitate any longer. I turned on my heel and left the stifling drawing room behind.
As I hurried through the grand front doors of the mansion, my eyes caught the line of sleek black cars adorned with special plates and subtle insignias speeding away. Peering through the darkly tinted windows, I felt an inexplicable chill—as if a sharp, penetrating gaze had just measured me from head to toe, dissecting every detail.
“Natalie.” A casual voice called out nearby. I turned to see a glossy white sports car pull up beside me, its window rolled down. A middle-aged man in casual attire smiled warmly, though he seemed oddly out of place amid the estate’s old-world grandeur. There was a striking resemblance between his features and mine.
“Let me introduce myself. I’m your biological uncle, Matthew. Hop in—I’ll give you a ride.” His tone was light, almost easygoing.
After what I’d just experienced, I was wary of anyone connected to the Scott family. “Thanks, but I can manage on my own,” I replied coolly, stepping back.
“Don’t be so guarded,” Matthew said, falling into step beside me as he drove slowly to keep pace. “I’m nothing like those power-obsessed, rule-bound people inside. I came here specifically to point you in the right direction.”
Seeing my continued distrust, he lowered his voice to a confidential tone.
“You’re a mixed-blood, an illegitimate daughter raised outside the pack. You’ve just awakened your power, inherited the Alpha title, and with it, hundreds of billions in assets. Do you really think the wolves in that family will let you walk away unchallenged? Penelope and Samuel are only the first to bare their teeth.”
His words grabbed my attention, but I kept walking, unwilling to show my vulnerability.
“You’re lucky, though. Or maybe someone with real vision saw your bloodline potential,” Matthew continued, glancing meaningfully in the direction where the black cars had disappeared. “The Silver-Maned Pack—one of the most powerful, oldest werewolf lineages in the country, even stronger than our Moon-Shadowed Pack—has taken an interest in you.”
I finally stopped and looked at him, my curiosity piqued. “What does that mean exactly?”
Matthew’s lips curled into a sly, amused smile. “It means the current Alpha of the Silver-Maned Pack, Leonardo, is interested in a marriage alliance with you. If this alliance goes through, your position within the Moon-Shadowed Pack will become unshakable.”
He paused, letting the weight of his words sink in. “No matter how much Penelope and the others despise it, they won’t dare lay a finger on you. Right now, this is your strongest shield.”
A marriage alliance? I was stunned, my eyes dropping to the cold black card in my palm. Leonardo’s name—and the power behind it—had just saved me from Penelope and Samuel’s coercion. Now, it seemed to be pulling me deeper into a vast, unknown tide of destiny.
Penelope’s Perspective:
How had the Silver-Maned Pack even noticed this bastard? What could Leonardo—the notoriously cold and ruthless Alpha of the Silver-Maned Pack, wielding unimaginable power—possibly want? This completely shattered all my plans! With the Silver-Maned Pack involved, forcing her into submission would become infinitely more difficult.
Damn it! I needed to uncover the Silver-Maned Pack’s true intentions, and fast. There was no way I could allow her to leverage this connection to cement her claim to the Alpha position!
