Brandon whispered, “So it was the business magnate from Sevria Bay. It seems we really were a bit too loud when we brought Bella in last night.”
Bella’s expression soured. She shot Brandon a look filled with displeasure.
Sabrina was quick to notice her daughter’s mood.
“Martin, are we the only ones who know the old gentleman from Sevria Bay is here?”
A look of delight crossed Martin’s face. “I believe so.”
Sabrina’s smile widened. “My, that psychic was truly accurate.”
Brandon asked, “What psychic? Ms. Ward, did you have your fortune told?”
“Not me, our Bella,” Sabrina replied. “When she was little, a psychic read her fortune and said she was a lucky star. And it’s true, isn’t it? Her career has flourished these past few years, and it’s even benefited the family business.
To think that a single trip to the hospital could lead to an encounter with such an important figure. Perhaps we’ll even have the chance to connect with him. If that’s not a lucky star, what is?”
After Sabrina finished, Martin was the first to agree that she had a point.
“She’s right. Bella is our good luck charm. Anyone around her seems to have good fortune.”
The others quickly chimed in with their agreement.
Bella’s mood finally improved.
They followed Mr. Montrose’s entourage to the elevator, hoping to squeeze in and strike up a conversation.
But the Montrose family’s bodyguards blocked them at the entrance.
Fortunately, there was no one else around, otherwise, it would have been an embarrassing scene for both the Blake and Mercer families.

Lillian didn’t mention her hospital stay the previous night. She returned to Litech NaLabs and went about her work as usual.
She had wanted to spend time in every department, learning the company’s current operations and data from the ground up.
But Nathan couldn't wait that long.
“Lillian, you’ve been in the data department for a day, that’s long enough. Let’s move you to another department today, shall we?”
“The company was doing just fine before I came back, wasn't it?” Lillian said. “Don’t rush me. I need to take my time and get familiar with everything before I can be effective.”
Nathan insisted, “It’s not me who’s rushing. It’s just that you’ve been away for years, and the industry has been suffering without you!
Also, don’t say I didn't warn you. You need to be prepared. That formidable professor of yours is coming back.
You cut off contact with everyone during the years you were away, but you know how influential he is.
And you know how difficult he can be to work with.
I heard the Blake family is trying to poach him with a huge salary to endorse Bella.”
No wonder Nathan was in such a hurry.
Both the Blake family and Litech NaLabs were currently competing in the race for autonomous driving, robotic delivery services, and other AI-driven technologies.
The Blake family had likely offered an exorbitant salary to lure Lillian’s former professor.
