Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1882

"Seriously, though—who are that woman and her kid with her? Fiona’s causing trouble again. She just can’t help herself, can she?"

The whispers drifted through the morning air, sharp and relentless. Fiona barely glanced up, her expression unreadable. One look was all she needed—she saw the disgust in their eyes, the same people who’d once begged her for self-defense lessons. Funny how quickly people turned. Fiona was used to it by now.

With the crowd backing them up, the mother and son instantly perked up. The boy started bawling, rolling on the ground for effect, while his mom stood there, acting like the queen of morality, pointing fingers and yelling at Fiona. Right at the school gates, they put on a full-blown show for everyone to see.

Jane’s half-brother lunged at Fiona, but she didn’t even bother to look at him. Calmly, she lifted her leg and kicked him square in the chest. He went flying, slammed into the steps, and the crack of teeth hitting stone echoed through the crowd.

"Fiona! You dare hit my son? Do you even know who I am? I swear, I’ll make you pay!"

The woman stomped toward her, stopping just three steps away. Her eyes went wide—then, out of nowhere, she was thrown back, landing with a scream that echoed down the street.

No one really knew what just happened. All they saw was Tyler brushing off his hands, his tone bored as he said, "Seriously, people like that? You can practically smell the rot on them. Disgusting."

The crowd was stunned. They had no idea how Fiona did it, but she knew. A hint of a smile played on her lips. "Looks like I’m getting stronger. One move, and the trash takes itself out. Not bad."

She and Tyler walked off, the crowd silently parting to let them through. A few people whipped out their phones, filming the whole thing and posting it online. Instead of causing a scandal, the video got a flood of support—most people thought Fiona had done exactly the right thing. Some people just didn’t deserve mercy.

Finally, Fiona and Tyler met up with Nash at the bar entrance, and the three of them headed inside together.

"They’re in booth 202," Nash said as they walked.

Most of the booths were dark and empty, but you couldn’t miss 202—the lights were flashing and laughter spilled out. Fiona glanced at the others. "Let’s do this," she said.

They pushed open the door and stepped inside, scanning the room—only to realize Pearl was nowhere to be found.
