**Chapter 35: Truths or Transfer**
“Get off me!” I yelled, thrashing around on the bed like a wild animal caught in a trap, desperation coursing through my veins.
“Not a chance, Sav,” he replied, his grip unwavering as he held me down. “Not when you’ve officially become a threat to my lineage.” His voice was steady, but I could hear the underlying tension.
“You betrayed me!” My voice was raw, a mix of anger and hurt spilling out.
“I already told you, I was protecting you,” he said, his tone calmer this time, as if he was trying to soothe a raging storm. “Because if you knew what he had—what I saw—you’d never look me in the eye again.”
“What?!” My heart raced, pounding against my ribcage like a frantic bird desperate to escape.
What could he possibly have on Roman? The question echoed in my mind, a haunting specter I couldn’t shake off.
“When the time comes, you’ll find out,” he said cryptically, as if he could read the turmoil swirling in my thoughts.
“Why won’t you be open with me?!” I kicked my feet in frustration, the bed creaking beneath our weight.
He pressed down harder, his body a solid wall against mine, the heat radiating from him igniting something deep within me. I could feel his rigid length pressing against me, an unwelcome reminder of the tension crackling in the air.
“Roman, stop… I’m being serious. Don’t try to distract me,” I managed to say, my breath hitching at the end, betraying my resolve.
“You started this,” he murmured into my ear, his voice low and sultry, sending shivers down my spine.
“Let me go,” I protested, my voice a breathless whisper, laced with a hint of vulnerability.
“Say please,” he commanded, a playful challenge dancing in his tone.
“Roman—”
“Say it.”
With another swift smack, my breath caught in my throat, the sound echoing in the charged atmosphere.
“Never!” I spat defiantly, though my heart raced in response to his playful dominance.
He chuckled, a low, throaty sound that sent a thrill through me, and eased off my back just enough to let me breathe, but not enough to escape.
Every hair on my body stood on end when I heard him fumbling behind me, the sound of his belt sliding through the loops of his jeans sending a jolt of anticipation through me.
“Roman—” I started, breathless and confused. “What are you doing?”
