The next thing Caroline had to do was bury the bodies–the big white cat, the weasel, and the half–eaten black cat–into the black soil.
But to her surprise, no matter how hard she tried, none of the bodies appeared.
She quickly searched through her storage space, trying to find where the bodies had gone.
But after looking for a long time, she couldn’t find any of them.
They had completely vanished–just like that!
Caroline remembered the last time she stored a mutated bird’s body. That time, she went into the space together with it and buried it directly in Farm One.
But this time, she had simply thrown the three bodies inside.
So, did the storage space actually eat them?
“You greedy little thing! You could’ve at least told me before eating them!”
Caroline grumbled, glaring at the air, and showed her middle finger to the storage space.
Of course, it didn’t respond.
She sighed. She had even planned to peel off the weasel’s skin.
It was from a mutant, after all. The skin looked super warm!
The temperature would drop again soon. Even though she had her thermal suit and mink coat, nothing could beat mutant fur.
Now, everything was gone.
What could she even say?
With a system like this, she just had to deal with it.
At least she still had one thing left, the mutant white cat’s tail.
She had kept it on her the whole time, so it hadn’t been taken by the storage space.
Caroline walked over to the Junk Eater, her eyes gleaming with an idea. Then she tossed the

white cat’s tail inside.
The JunkEater swallowed it quickly.
Caroline rubbed her chin, curious to see what it might produce tomorrow.
When she finished all that, she checked what the JunkEater had made today.
That machine was kind to her today.
To her surprise, it had produced a pair of snow boots!
She was so touched she could’ve cried.
After all, this same machine had once given her only one glove and one sock.
It still hadn’t made the other pair!
Over the past few days, JunkEater had produced yet another sock.
The first one had been red. The new one was green.
When Caroline placed them side by side, they looked like they were mocking her.
Meanwhile, she had begun planting large batches in both Farm One and Farm Two.
But Farm One … that thing was a real troublemaker.
Whenever Caroline sowed a field of seeds, it never grew what she expected.
On good days, it would surprise her with a full patch of shiny bullets.

The day she harvested them, she was so thrilled she couldn’t stop grinning. She had harvested a huge box of them.
But on bad days, she’d plant for hours, her back aching, only to get a single cup of warm vegetable juice.
She almost cried right there on the spot.
As for Farm Two, she’d transplanted the strange tree that had first sprouted in Farm One.
And what happened? The tree turned completely ordinary.
If she left it in Farm One, though, it would bear fruit three times before drying up.

All in all, her whole storage space felt like one endless rollercoaster of surprises–half miracle, half misery.
She was exhausted just thinking about it.
When she went to check the breeding pens, Caroline noticed the rabbit population had grown again.
That blueberry rabbit from the storage space seemed ridiculously fertile.
And this time, it had found itself a new mate–a black rabbit.
That blueberry rabbit had dumped the poor white male from before.
The new couple snuggled together like they were made for each other.
The white one sulked in the corner, nibbling grass in quiet heartbreak.
Before long, the blueberry rabbit gave birth to four new babies.
One had yellow–and–black fur, looking like a walking road sign.
Another was blue with little black dots—like a fuzzy ladybug.
And the strangest one was bright yellow all over, with black eyes, ears, paws, and tail. It looked like a weird, color–confused koala.
Caroline couldn’t make sense of rabbit romance or their genetics.
After petting a few of the tiny ponies for comfort, she finally stepped out of the storage space.
Outside, she decided it was time to have a serious talk with Raven.
After all, there had been four whole floors of frozen meat down there.
That was supposed to be Raven’s main food supply.
If he really had collected it, she figured maybe—just maybe he’d earned a few extra meals a day.
