Before the upgrade, Caroline had tossed a small piece of the golden python’s broken horn into the JunkEater.

Now, she was genuinely curious to see what would come out of it.

Of course, in the other compartment, she had only dumped some regular household trash- nothing worth expecting.

She started with the normal waste compartment. When she opened it, she found a pair of skis.

Caroline let out a sigh of relief–thankfully, it was a pair. If it had only made one, that’d be ridiculous. Who knew when the second one would show up?

Ice skates did not work well in every snowy area, so she did use skis sometimes, but no matter how expensive the ones outside were, none could match the quality of anything made by the

space.

Of course, even though they came as a set, they still looked ridiculous: the left ski had a Flash decal, and the right one had Spider–Man.

Still, the word “Speed” engraved on the tip told her exactly what made them special–they clearly had a speed boost.

Compared to Raven, who burned through six pots of meat for every sixty miles, these skis were definitely a more “energy–efficient” ride.

If Raven ever found out that his human disliked how much he ate and was already looking for alternatives, he would probably be heartbroken.

After storing the skis away, Caroline lifted the lid on the other compartment and found herself staring into a pair of round eyes.

Inside was a tiny snake, its whole body gold with ice–blue eyes, no thicker than her pinky finger. Its little tongue flicked in and out, also glowing faint blue, as it coiled neatly inside the huge container.

“A baby golden python?” Caroline muttered in disbelief.

The little thing looked delicate and oddly adorable.

Its ice–blue eyes hinted that it probably had some sort of power, but what kind, she was not sure yet.

She slowly reached out, and the small snake gently wrapped itself around her wrist before morphing into a golden bracelet!

The bracelet was exquisite, with ancient–style engravings etched across its surface. On one side, a tiny serpent head seemed to raise itself ever so slightly, staring up at Caroline.

For a second, she thought she was seeing things, but no, the patterns were actually moving, slithering slowly like the snake was still alive.

“Little one, come out,” Caroline commanded.

A flash of gold lit her wrist, and the snake appeared on the floor of the space again, flicking its tongue and gazing up at her.

Caroline studied it carefully and saw that its tiny fangs were icy blue. If she guessed right, it

was venomous.

So, it was basically a living weapon?

Not bad. She would have to test its poison later to see if it was lethal or just paralyzing.

After storing the snake away, Caroline wandered around the space again.

She fed the JunkEater new items, buried more seeds in Farm One, and harvested cabbages and radishes from Farm Two.

Then she visited the ranch, petting the long–unseen alpacas and baby cows.

Finally, after saying goodbye to Jasper, she happily left the space with some fresh milk in hand.

The moment she stepped out, she was greeted by two big, grumpy faces–Raven and Jet.

Raven sat stiffly, face drooping, looking every bit like a dog whose mood could not be lifted even by three chicken legs.

Jet was perched on the couch, not even watching his tablet, just sitting there sulking.

As soon as Caroline appeared, Jet said sarcastically, “Oh, look who finally decided to show up!”
