**TITLE: Doomsday Rebirth 402**
**Chapter 402: Invisible Psycho on the Roof**
But they missed.
“Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!”
A sudden, anguished cry pierced through the air, emanating from Silver.
Desperately, she flapped her wings, her heart racing as she fought against an unseen force that held her leg captive, pulling her down into the abyss below.
Jet, sensing the urgency of the moment, felt a surge of anger swell within him. He dove forward, his claws poised to shred whatever invisible menace threatened his friend.
In that instant, a figure materialized beneath Silver, as if summoned by the chaos of the moment.
With one hand gripping Silver’s feet, he crouched precariously on the rooftop railing. The railing was barely thicker than a fist, yet he seemed unnaturally steady, as though he were part of the structure itself.
He appeared to be in his twenties, with disheveled hair that framed a face marked by sickly pale skin and narrow, unsettling eyes that radiated an eerie gloom.
Short in stature, he wore no shoes, and his only garment was a long, flowing white T-shirt that resembled a hospital gown—a look that suggested he had just escaped from a mental institution.
…
Surprisingly, he showed no fear in the face of Jet’s fury. Instead, he reached out and plucked a feather from Silver, examining it with a curious fascination. “What a pretty feather,” he remarked, his voice dripping with a strange delight.
Silver chirped in pain, her struggle to break free becoming increasingly desperate.
Jet’s claws were poised just inches from the man’s face, yet he hesitated to unleash a fireball, knowing it could harm Silver.
But as Jet closed the distance, the man’s reflexes were lightning quick. He suddenly seized Jet’s claw with his bare hand!
Jet was swift, but the man was even quicker. He gripped Jet with an ease that defied belief.
Jet fought back fiercely, his sharp claws digging into the man’s hand, desperation fueling his struggle.
Soon, the skin broke, and a drop of blood trickled down, but the man remained unmoved, as if he were impervious to pain.
In a moment of instinctual rage, Jet opened his mouth wide and unleashed a fireball aimed directly at the man’s hand!
Yet, astonishingly, the man didn’t flinch. His hand, now scorched, only caused his face to light up with a wild excitement, a manic grin spreading across his features.
“Such a fiery bird! I like it!” the man exclaimed, his delight palpable.
Raven and Show charged in, their instincts kicking in as they rushed to aid their friends.
Snow, having awakened her latent abilities, threw back her head and howled at the man on the railing, a sound filled with raw power and determination.
