Girl's Doomsday Rebirth Revenge & Survive novel Chapter 456

**TITLE: Doomsday Rebirth 456**
**Chapter 456: Tartrate the Mighty Cat**

The enormous mutant cat, resembling a lion in both size and majesty, propelled itself forward with astonishing speed, snatching the cat teaser from the floor as if it were a mere toy. Its voluminous, fluffy tail swept through the air, brushing past Caroline’s face and leaving a fine layer of dust that tickled her nose. She couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight.

As the giant feline trotted back, the teaser delicately clamped between its jaws, Caroline’s heart swelled with pride. It was clear that Nelson had dedicated his entire night to winning the affection of this magnificent creature. He had truly succeeded in forging a bond with Tartrate.

“Caroline, I just whipped up a scrap bowl,” Nelson announced with a hint of excitement in his voice. “The ingredients weren’t the best, so the flavor is just okay. But if I had access to higher-quality items, I could create something truly scrumptious. Just imagine—if I keep this up, Tartrate will become the most handsome and charming big cat you’ve ever seen!”

He eagerly lifted the lid of the pot, revealing the scrap bowl inside. Caroline’s jaw dropped in disbelief as she spotted the remnants of duck, chicken, and fish. Hadn’t she left all of that meat here for him to feed Tartrate this week?

“What about you, Nelson? What have you been eating these past few days?” she inquired, concern etching her features.

With a blink of his wide, honest eyes, Nelson raised a plate that held a single, lonely cupcake. “I had this,” he replied, his voice almost sheepish.

Caroline gently placed a hand on his shoulder, feeling a wave of sympathy wash over her. Oh, sweet boy, at this rate, you’re going to end up malnourished!

When the topic of Tartrate resurfaced, Caroline couldn’t help but pause, curiosity piquing her interest. “Tartrate? What does that even mean?”

With a newfound seriousness, Nelson adjusted his glasses and began to explain, “Tartrate is the result of one of the most exquisite chemistry experiments ever conducted. Back in 1848, a brilliant chemist named Louis Pasteur managed to separate tartrate crystals into two distinct optical forms. It was dubbed ‘a simple, elegant, and significant experiment.'”

And just like that, Nelson launched into an enthusiastic science lesson, his words flowing rapidly as he shared his passion for the subject.

Yet Caroline found her focus drifting away from his lecture. Instead, her gaze settled on the large gray cat, the teaser still clutched firmly in its mouth, its big, innocent eyes fixed on her. A pang of sympathy struck her heart; it was hard to believe such a cool and stunning cat had been given a name that sounded so fancy, awkward, and utterly forgettable.

Deciding to steer the conversation in a different direction, she asked Nelson about his research on mutant mosquitoes and mutant flies. To her surprise, he turned around and began rummaging through a chaotic pile of homemade cat toys. Moments later, he triumphantly produced two small, clear bottles. “These contain my findings on mutant flies and mutant mosquitoes. I completed them ages ago. You didn’t ask, so I didn’t think to give them to you,” he explained, a hint of pride in his voice.

Caroline stared in disbelief at the colorful mountain of toys that cluttered his desk. Her hand trembled slightly as she accepted the bottles from him. These were vital items, yet they had been buried beneath an avalanche of squeaky toys and feather sticks.

“I’m planning to trade these with the military,” she said, her tone serious. “This time, I want your input. Is there anything specific you need?”

She had posed this question to him before, and he had always replied that he didn’t require anything. So, she casually inquired again, not expecting much.

But as soon as the words left her lips, Nelson’s hand shot out, grasping hers tightly, his eyes wide with anticipation. “I want clothes for Tartrate! And cat snacks! And a whole lot of fresh meat for him to eat!”

Caroline was momentarily speechless, taken aback by the depth of his affection for the cat.

She hadn’t realized just how much of a cat enthusiast Nelson truly was.
