Girl's Doomsday Rebirth Revenge & Survive novel Chapter 455

**Chapter 455: A Quiet Deal**

Caroline barely managed to articulate her thoughts when Francis interjected with enthusiasm. “Oh, that’s a piece of cake! The army has meticulous records on every mutant residing in the shelter—both soldiers and civilians alike. I can procure a comprehensive list for you. Once you spot someone appealing to you, I’ll arrange for my team to package them up and deliver them straight to your doorstep!”

A spark ignited in Caroline’s eyes at the mention of a complete dossier on mutant abilities. This was precisely what she needed; it would save her an immense amount of time and effort.

However, as she processed the phrases “someone you like” and “pack them up,” a slight grimace formed at the corner of her mouth. Why did Francis always seem to stumble over his words by the end of their conversations?

What she truly desired from this arrangement was straightforward: an abundance of mutant creature corpses, assistance in capturing rare mutated animals, and for the military to remain vigilant for any potential ability users who could be of use to her.

The modified truck was merely an unexpected windfall she had stumbled upon.

Francis assured her that, barring any unforeseen circumstances, the truck should arrive at the shelter by the next day.

After concluding her conversation with him, Caroline made her way back upstairs to check on Raven and Silver, who were still unconscious.

Both of them appeared stable, and it was clear they didn’t require her immediate attention.

Feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over her, she retreated to her room to steal some much-needed rest.

That night, sleep enveloped her, and she remained undisturbed until the sun had risen high the next morning, around eight or nine. After a quick breakfast, she planned to inquire whether Tyler had returned. Just as she was about to step out, a knock echoed at her door.

When she opened it, there stood Tyler, his eyes bloodshot and weary.

His round trip had consumed a grueling twelve hours.

He wasted no time in recounting his adventure. He explained how he had been trailed, how he cleverly utilized Shane to deal with the trackers, and how he ultimately managed to slip away unnoticed.

“I didn’t circle back to check,” Tyler admitted, his voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty. “But after driving a few miles out, I waited for a couple of hours. No one showed up. Shane should’ve taken care of them.”

As he divulged the entire plan, even Caroline found herself giving him an approving thumbs-up. That was crafty—downright ruthless. He had effectively tackled three challenges in one swift move: sending Shane far away, finding someone to keep the trackers busy, and eliminating the stalkers. It was a brilliant strategy.

Caroline took the opportunity to share her own experiences from the previous day.

Tyler’s brow furrowed in concern. “Something significant is about to unfold at the shelter.”

Caroline nodded, her thoughts mirroring his. But with Raven and Silver still on the mend, they were not in a position to leave just yet. Besides …

“It’s not safe out there,” she replied firmly. “We need Commander Ball to restore order. Only then can we make our move.”

She held onto the belief that the wait wouldn’t be prolonged. After all, tomorrow marked Nathaniel’s funeral.
