Divorce Me Before Death Takes Me, CEO novel Chapter 400

Chapter 400

Andrey’s POV

I scrolled through my phone, watching the comments flood in. The livestream had triggered a social media avalanche against Rachel, and I couldn’t help but enjoy it.

[If you’re starting your own business, rely on your skills to find investors, not an old man’s money!]

[Exactly! The nerve of her trying to guilt her grandfather’ into funding her business!]

[She’s the one who originally told him to donate everything to charity! Now she wants it all?]

I leaned against the hospital wall, feeling a wave of satisfaction. Just yesterday, Rachel was using public opinion as a weapon against me. Now the tables had turned.

[Wasn’t the money supposed to go to Audrey Sinclair? This Rachel person isn’t even Audrey!]

[I heard she’s only Blake Parker’s fiancée because she’s pretending to be Audrey to fool the old man!]

[My friend at Northern Care says William can’t tell faces apart anymore. Any young woman could claim to be Audrey!]

I tapped the heart icon on a particularly brutal comment.

The internet went wild: [Did she just LIKE that? Bold move!]

[Either trolling or clueless lol]

Rachel frowned at Adrian. ‘I don’t need your investment.”

She turned to William with a tired voice. “You don’t care about me anymore, do you?”

William nodded slowly. “That’s right.”

“You’ve changed,” he said, studying her face. ‘Grandfather can no longer care for you.”

“Have I done something wrong?” Rachel asked, her voice small.

William cut her off. “You haven’t done anything wrong. I’m dying and my mood’s gone to hell.”

He turned to the notary and lawyer, “My position is clear. Everything goes to charity.”

“This decision is final.”

He covered their hands with his. If my children refuse to execute this will, take them to court.”

His eyes found mine. “I hope Mrs. Knox will handle the donations.”

The lawyer shifted uncomfortably. “Usually family members – *

“No way!” Thalia interrupted. “Let her do it! We’re not giving away Parker money!”

Olivia nodded vigorously. “Exactly!”

I raised an eyebrow at Rachel. ‘Miss Hayes, you’re closest to William. Perhaps you could – *

“I refuse,” Rachel said coldly, standing up. “Since he specifically asked for you, you do it.”

Chapter 400

I’m busy with my business. I don’t have time.”

She headed for the door. “Since grandfather’s fine now, I’m going back to work.”

As she left, I met William’s eyes. His satisfied smile said everything.

Rebecca glared at William. “You’re losing your mind with age!”

“Giving all that money to charity? Ridiculous!”

William smoothed his silver hair. “These assets are mine. I built them.”

“When I handed Parker Group to Leo, I kept this money for myself. I’m handling my own affairs. Got a problem with that?”

His gaze moved to Elizabeth. “Or do you object?”

Elizabeth forced a smile. “Father, your assets are yours to control.”

“Though we’d appreciate your help, these are your affairs. We can’t dictate what you do.”

She grabbed Rebecca’s arm. ‘Let’s go. I just remembered something important.”

Rebecca frowned at Thalia and Olivia. “Come on.”

They left without looking at William.

The lawyer took a deep breath. ‘Is this really your final decision?”

William nodded, turning to Blake. “You don’t want your grandfather’s money, do you? You’ve run Parker Group for years. If you’re still after my assets, I’d be disappointed.”

Blake shrugged. “When did I say I wanted it? What I need, I earn myself.”

He looked at me. “What isn’t mine… I won’t force it.”

I instinctively met his eyes. He smiled slightly before looking away.

My phone lit up with new comments:

Did you see that emotional look? Who was Blake staring at?]

[That’s Evelyn Knox, Audrey’s twin!]

[There’s definitely a story there.]

[He’s only looking at her because she’s identical to his dead wife!]

[Blake still loves Audrey. This wedding to Rachel is just for show.]

I closed the livestream with a cold laugh. Emotional gaze? Please. It only moved him, not me.

After everyone left, only Adrian, Blake, William, Charles and I remained.

“Audrey,” William said softly.

1 took a breath, forcing a smile. “William.”

Thank you for your help, he sighed. “You should go now. The will is done, the livestream worked. I’ve accomplished what I wanted.”

‘If you stay longer, people will talk.”

He waved us away. “We’ll see each other at the wedding tomorrow.”

I nodded quietly. “Mm.”

Adrian and I headed for the door.

Blake’s POV

Grandfather and I watched from our wheelchairs as Audrey left with Adrian. We sighed in unison.
