The Rogue Alpha and the Werewolf King (by Hailey Kristine) novel Chapter 114

Chap 114

Evangelina’s POV

As I walk to the clearing where we have begun piling the dead enemies I take note of the large pile that just

keeps being added to. There are at least 100 bodies piled.

Come on man. Why can’t you just let me unstack and count them? I’ll do it myself. I don’t need help.A man’s voice asks loudly, almost veering into the shouting range.

Orders. You are one of them and haven’t been vetted. Maybe you’re looking for someone or something

spècial.” Another man says. I can hear the disgust in his voice.

That’s appalling. Why can’t you seem to get it through your THICK SKULL that I am trying to help?!The man, I am guessing is Mark, shouts and before things can escalate further I walk into view. There are four warriors standing between the man and the bodies. I can tell from the way Mark’s body is heaving that he is pi*sed.

Three of the four warriors in front of him are just standing quietly, while the one, I recognize as Alpha

Shelton, looks down his nose at Mark.

“Look boy I don’t..Alpha Shleton starts, but I interrupt, clearing my throat.

Alpha Shelton. What seems to be the problem here?I ask, walking closer to the group. The three quiet

warriors and Mark bow their heads towards me as Shelton gives me a stink eye.

This BOY is trying to search the enemies dead bodies for somethin. He hasn’t been vetted and I ain’t lettin him near the bodies.Shelton answers with an accent and I scowl. Yeah, if I wasn’t a fan of Alpha Shelton

before, I most certainly am not now.

I look over towards Mark, his head still bowed, hair buzzed neatly at his sides while longer hair is on top. He

has been given clothes that are a bit too small for his body. He looks up at me and I am stricken by his light brown eyes and sharp features. Glancing down I see him clutching a paper and pen as his other hand balls

into a fist and releases.

Clearly he is not a BOY.I state, turning my head towards Shelton who just scowls at me.

He..Shelton starts, but I hold up my hand stopping him.

Do you know how valuable it would be to tally the dead enemies AND have a person who knows them be able to inform us of how many escaped? The strength and powers of the ones who DID escape? Because I can guarantee you that some most certainly did.” I ask, pushing out my aura and smacking Shelton in the face with it. He visibly shrinks and his eyes widen as if he is seeing me for the first time.

Your. Your highness. I. I didn’t. I didn’t.He stutters.

No. Obviously you didn’t think, Stanley. You may leave.I order and his face turns red at the disregard of his title. He sputters, but when I narrow my eyes he all but runs away. The three guards move to leave when I

stop them.

Is Stanley your Alpha?I ask them and they turn their weary eyes on me.

He is mine. Your highness. One answers and I motion for him to leave.

You two will help Mark here with the bodies. Lay them out so that he can see them clearly and take notes. I will ask others to join you in a few minutes.I say and they nod their heads and move towards the pile. Once

any differently here than any other pack member. Adria told me you were having trouble and I am ashamed to admit I didn’t think of tallying the bodies. I am glad you are helping and that you had the idea.I answer and his head shoots up, eyes locking on mine.

You really are Angel’s mom. I can see the resemblance, but it’s uncanny. Your personalities are alike in some ways as well.” He says smiling and I furrow my brows in confusion.

Angel?I ask Now his eyes hold confusion.

Your daughter? He asks and my eyes open wide in realization. Lettie and Adria were calling Ziana, Angel. I

thought it was just a nickname

Sorry, I didn’t realize that she went by Angel. Ziana is what I named her.” I answer, awkwardly and he stares

at me silently.

Ziana. She would like that. But don’t tell her I told you that the should choose. He says and I smile.

Your secret’s safe with me Mark. I’ll get you some more help over here. You’re in charge. I would stay to help,

but I need to see the damage done on the shopping squareI say and he nods his head in understanding.

Thank you, Luna.He says and bows. I pat his shoulder and mindink Linc

Please find a group of people to help organize the enemy bodies so we can tally them. And have one bring

As I make a turn and start wailing up the road to the town square I see buildings still smoldering from

catching fire. Trees and wines are all over the place, street lamps are sparkling, bricks and rocks are all over,

some flew into windows, others managed to break through doors,

I sigh. It looks hormble

I continue to walk, taking in all of the damage when I am joined by ins.

This will take months to rebuild, and that is with another pack’s help. She says and i nod my head in

I have gotten the people from Frankin’s pack fed, cleaned, clothed, and bedrooms. Most are bunking

together until we can figure this outShe says and i nod.

How many were there in total? i didn’t pay much attention when i realized Ziana wasn’t with them.I ask.

There were 34, not including the twins Ziana brought us during the war 7 of the 34 are under the age of 10, 16 are under the age of 18 and the rest are all under 30She explains and i sigh.
