Chapter7
Alpha Killian’s POV
“I am here for the Alpha conference.” I answer with no emotion. The small smile she gives me is placating and I grit my teeth at the anger I feel.
“Well you’re a little off. When you came through the main door, you should have gone up the stairs and done a u–turn, to the balcony area, it’s the only door in the hall.” She tells me.
She is being kind to me. I don’t get what game she is playing. I nod my head as a response and follow the directions, making my way back to the main entrance and going up to the conference room.
I enter the room and take a seat next to a beady eyed Alpha. He eyes me skeptically, but I pay him no mind as I look around the room. Alpha’s and Luna’s are eyeing me, some are shocked, others are worried, some downright reek of fear.
The Queen greets me and smiles in my direction. I see the King’s surprise before it is quickly masked. Most people don’t know what I look like since my pack stays to themselves. I am surprised that the Queen knew to be quite honest. Turning my attention back to her, she is pretty. The resemblance to my mate is quite pronounced. My brain begins to make the connection as the King speaks.
“Welcome to the Royal Pack Alpha Killian. We are waiting for one more person before..” The door interrupts his sentence and I am smacked with the orange cranberry smell. “Ah here she is.” He says and my mate walks in, sweat glistening her forehead, but beautiful as ever.
“Sorry father.” She apologizes in that soft, angelic voice. My eyes nearly bug out of my head as the pieces

She makes her way to behind King Warrick and stands as close to the corner of the room as she can, eyeing all of the people in the room. Playing with a dagger in her hands. She looks like Athena, the goddess of war.
As her eyes sweep over me, they land on the Alpha next to me and her lip curls slightly in disgust, before she
moves on.
堂
Her eyes didn’t even stop on me for a millisecond. Does she think she is so far up the ladder of hierarchy that even an Alpha is too low
for her? She is giving a domineering air around the room, worse than the King or Queen.
“Why does mate not want us?” Grim wines and it breaks my heart.
“I don’t know buddy.” I say and he whines more, then lays down sadly in my head.
My attention is pulled back into focus as I realize that the Alpha directly across from us is glaring daggers to
one who sits four down on my side. Tension rises with each word he speaks.
“The Dark Meadow pack stole my daughter and refused to give her back. He grits as his face becomes red
with frustration. “I came here today in hopes the crown will interject.”
My attention turns to the king and his eyes are contemplative. He turns his attention to a young Alpha Is surprisingly smaller than most, but holds his own. Considering the seriousness of the allegatio

“I have not stolen anybody. That is deplorable.” He says, almost nonchalantly, like it is an everyday
conversation.
“YOU HAVE MY DAUGHTER!” Yells the other Alpha.
“Why do you think they stole your daughter, Alpha Stanley?” The King asks and I curl my lips in disgust. I have heard from various sources that he is a sh*t Alpha.
“She wouldn’t just up and leave, I know that for a fact.” He says, crossing his arms and glaring at Alpha
Sebastian.
I turn my attention back to the king. He is looking over his shoulder to my observant mate.
“Ziana?” He asks and she steps forward, halting the dagger, and looking towards the King. Ziana, such a beautiful and unique name.
“Father.” She says and he nods his head towards the angry Alpha. She sighs as her gaze shifts to Alpha
Stanley.
“She wouldn’t leave or couldn’t?” She asks, face hard as she questions him and he huffs, looking towards the
King.
“Your highness, what is the meaning of this?” He asks, anger beginning to lace his voice towards the King. To his credit the King merely raises an eyebrow.
“Answer her question, Alpha Stanley.” The King warns and Alpha Stanley’s face turns beet red as he begins to stutter. Ziana holds up her hand stopping the stuttering Alpha and turns to face Alpha Sebastian.
