The Rogue Alpha and the Werewolf King (by Hailey Kristine) novel Chapter 39

Chapter 39

Evangelina’s POV

We stare at Ingrid for a full 30 seconds before anybody says anything.

You’re not kidding.Warrick says, breaking the silence.

No I am not joking. I knew there was a reason we had to come here and this must be it. You following Evan out of the room triggered something and I saw you following her into battle. In order to win you two need to come together and train all packs, making them one force.Ingrid says and I can’t help but agree.

Unfortunately, I agree.I say and Warrick stares at me wide eyed.

Your pack can’t even look at me without being hostile and you expect me to allow them into my lands? He

scoffs. I think not.

They didn’t hurt you, did they?I ask, trying to prove a point.

Well no but if I didn’t get out of there soon they would have.He says and now it’s my turn to scoff.

Oh so, now you’re a seer too?I ask and he glares at me. Look, my pack trusts me unconditionally, they will do as I say. Can you say the same for yours?I ask and he growls.

My pack does not question my decisions. He grits.

Well maybe that’s a problem then.I say and she sucks in a breath as if I had burned him.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? You obviously have no control over your pack if they question you.

He snaps.

Oh on the contrary. My pack trusts me because they can question me. I don’t rule by fear, I allow questions and statements. I correct people when necessary, and answer any questions they may have to help further the belief that we are doing the right thing, THAT is why my people listen to me. Not because I force them, but because they trust that I am making the best decisions for them. And if they disagree, they can come and talk to me.I explain and he is shaking his head at me.

That’s obviously up for debate. Your socalled gamma hates the royal pack and was disrespectful towards me.” He says and I scrunch my eyebrows.

“First of all MANY of my pack members hate the Royal Pack. Second I did not tell her or anybody else to be respectful towards you, I only said to give you a tour. The could have tried to beat the sh*t out of you and wouldn’t have gone against anything I said. BUT they didn’t.I say and he scowls.

We’re getting off track here.Ingrid steps between us as if waiting for a bomb to go off and I shake my head. I walk toward my desk and take a seat, my mind dizzying at the argument we are having. The effects of getting lost in the man’s memory still there and rearing its ugly head with me getting riled up.

Ingrid takes a seat on the couch and Warrick sits next to her quietly. I pull keys out from my desk drawer and toss them to Warrick. He looks at me questioningly.

You can take off the silver.I say and he nods his head and I watch him as he takes the bracelets off and let them fall to the ground. He starts rubbing his wrists, which are blistered from the metal.

We can go round and round about everything, but that still doesn’t help the situation at hand.I say rubbing

my temples, trying to dispel the headache that has started to form between them.

And that situation is?He asks, I look him in the eyes.

સુનિતા

War is coming. They are attacking me first, since I can see the future and have many powerful people here. After they take us over, they will be coming for the royal pack. This man wants your throne.I say and he

shoots up.

How do you know this?!He yelled accusingly.

Because as I said, I can see the future.I say and he looks at me as if he doesn’t believe me.

Honey, it is true. If you two don’t join forces, this man will win.” His aunt says, causing me to look at her.

There is no way we can join forces, this pack is hours from mine.He says, it’s like he doesn’t get it. Warrick, I know you’re not thick minded. You have the space in your castle to house her pack. Well.. I think. Darling, how many people would you need rooms for?His aunt asks me.

I have 637 people. Some of them can share rooms, being that they are family. So I would need somewhere between 3 to 4 hundred rooms.I say as Warrick stares at me with wide eyes.

640 people?He repeats astonished.

That’s perfect. You have at least 500 extra rooms in the castle expansion.” Ingrid says, clapping her hands and pulling Warrick out of his thoughts.

It will never work.He says and I see the smile drop from his aunt’s face as she stares at him blankly.
