Chapter 57
Chapter 57
Evangelina’s POV
The rest of the day went by quickly. There were several fights that broke out, to which Marie, Linc, Jax, Iris,
and the twins kept under control. We have also had several couples find their mates, I guess that is one good thing to come of us moving here. It was decided to do their transfers tomorrow after they could think about
I have been thinking about Warrick and him asking for advice on and off all day. It was weird. I am surprised
that he actually asked me.
I hoped that it meant he was coming along and would grow closer with his pack, but when he came out of the castle, Hadley was on his arm and they were standing on the balcony watching people. Almost like they were looking down their noses at the people.
At the end of the night I help clean up and by the time I lay down it is 12 am.
I startle awake, my insides burning. I cringe in pain as my stomach turns and twists. F*ck it hurts.
The pain feels like it lasts for hours as I lay and tears streak my face. When it lessens I look at my phone to see that it is 2:30 in the morning. What are they doing up so late, I don’t know. All I know is that I won’t be
able to sleep.
I get out of bed and make my way to the bathroom. I throw some water on my face and look in the mirror. My face is flushed and my eyes are so dark they are almost black, indicating that my body was working over time to heal the pain I was in. I sigh and walk out of the room, down to the kitchen. Baking helps me clear my
mind.
After 2 and a half hours I have an assortment of muffins, one being my mothers mint chocolate chip and another her orange creamsicle. I also have chocolate chip, cinnamon, and banana nut. My mother used to love baking and I would help. I have many of her recipes memorized.
As I take the last batch out of the oven I hear shuffling through the doorway.
“Mmmm what did you make this time?” Marie says as she walks in.
“A lot.” I say as Linc follows her in.
“Everything okay?” He asks, looking at me in concern.
“Yeah. Muffin?” I ask and he takes a muffin and sniffs it. His eyes widened.
“Mint chocolate chip?” He asks and I nod. I only make those when I am truly having a hard time and he
knows this.
“Not too much before training. We need to head to the field soon.” I say and they both groan. We sit at the island and enjoy the muffins in silence when we hear more footsteps approaching.
“What’s that smell?” Jaxon asks as he walks into the kitchen.
“Evan apparently made muffins.” Henry says walking in behind Jax. They both come over and I eye them suspiciously. Jax grabs an orange creamsicle and takes a bite, staring wide eyed at me then back at the muffin.

“You made this?” He asks and I nod.
“Damn you need to give the recipe to our cooks, this is the best thing I have ever had.” He says and Marie
grumbles.
“Good luck with that.” She says, while taking another bite of her muffin.
“What are you doing here?” I ask Jax and he scoffs.
“I am coming to give you a tour of course. We didn’t have time to yesterday.” He says and I roll my eyes.
“That’ll have to wait pal, we got training to attend.” I say as I hop off the barstool and start to walk out.
“What do you mean? Training doesn’t start until 8, it’s only 6.” He asks and I shake my head.
“My pack trains at 6.” I say and his eyes bug out.
I shake my head, chuckling at his response and walking out toward the training field. That was the first thing that Iris showed me.
When I reach the field I start to set up the courses and the rings. Henry, Linc, and Marie join me and help. Where Jax went, I don’t know. Hopefully he went to get his warriors ready for training.
My pack is running late, but that is okay, it’s the first training in a new place. As people start arriving I have them start stretching.
All people ages 12 and up train. They are paired in similar age ranges, and the ones between the ages of 5 and 11 watch from the sidelines. Younger, and they are with a few designated sitters who switch out to ensure everybody trains. The younger ones who watch the training are surprisingly well behaved during the time, only a few act out sometimes and when they do I have them run.
After about 30 minutes, my pack has arrived and they begin stretching. Some of the Royal pack members have slowly joined the smaller kids on the sidelines, watching. I look at them curiously then walk over. There are about 10 of them and they all look to be between 13 and 16.
“Are you all going to join us or sit from the sidelines?” I ask as I approach them. They all snap their heads towards me and look in confusion.
“We. We aren’t allowed to train.” One of the younger boys says.
“Why not?” I ask and they all look around towards each other.
“Well.. because we are too young.” A girl answers and I shake my head.
“Not for my pack. Everybody 12 and up trains. I even have some classes for smaller ones during the day.” I say and they gape at me, while I begin to point to different sections that I have laid out. “That group over there is for ages 12 through 14. The one closer to it is 15 through 17 and then 18 and older train with adults. You can test out of groups if you are too advanced.” I finish and they just stare at me and look between each other warily.
“I suggest you all start by going to the 12 to 14 year group, just to start. My gamma in charge of the gr will move you to another if he feels you are more advanced. Go have fun.” I say and they all nod their heads and run towards the younger group. I could almost feel the excitement from here. There is one girl who remains standing and looking down.
“Are you okay?” I ask and she nods her head and looks up towards me. Her yellow eyes filled with unshed
