Linc, the twins, and an older man who I don’t recognize from here. Evan is speaking with the other two who were training the younger groups and as she finishes she walks up to the group cleaning and the old man pulls her in for a hug. I can’t help but glare at him. Who is this man touching her?
“You did good.” I hear the man say and watch as he squeezes her tighter. She squeezes him back and pulls
away.
“Thank you.” She says as she pulls away and walks towards me and Jaxon.
“Damn girl. That was ridiculously intense. What was it you put on the wrists?” Jax asks as she approaches.
By now my pack members have started showing up for training.
“Something to bind their gifts.” She answers and I see Jaxon’s eyes widen.
“Silver? You put them in silver?” He asks horrified, she just smiles.
“Yes, but it is modified so that the only effects are their gifts and a little healing, we couldn’t figure that part out. BUT they still keep most of their healing properties; it just takes a bit longer.” She answers and Jaxon’s
horrified gaze remains.
“Jaxon. It doesn’t hurt them, it just teaches them that they will have to battle without their magic. I have something like that for all of the species in my pack.” She says and he shakes his head.
“Then you beat them to a pulp. That isn’t enough of a lesson?” He asks and her eyes turn almost black.
“Are you telling me how to handle my pack members?” She asks in a deadly tone. Sh*t it sent shivers up my spine. Maybe for more reasons than being scared, but that will not be acknowledged.
“No. I. Just. No.” Jaxon stammers.
“The punishment for almost killing a pack member is cuffs and a beating. If it was just reckless magic it would have been just the cuffs. For taking fighting too far it’s a beating. There are different levels of punishment.” Linc says coming up to us and clasping a hand on Evan’s shoulder, her head turns to Linc and when she turns back to us her eyes are a dull gray.
“Oh. I’m sorry.” Jax says and Evan shrugs her shoulders.
“No. It’s fine. Veena just gets very upset if somebody questions our leadership, she pushed out.” Evan says and it feels like my insides light up. Viggo is prancing around like a lovesick puppy at the mention of his
mate’s name.
“I get it. I’m sorry. You know, you can be scary as s**t if you want to be.” Jax says, making Linc laugh and
Evan chuckle.
“Tell me about it man. I have had that anger directed at me on more than one occasion. It is NOT something I want.” Linc says and Evan smacks him upside his head. “Ow!” he exclaims as he rubs the back of his head.
“Are you able to stay for the 8:00 training for our pack? I was thinking you could see how we do things and we could make a plan on how to combine.” Jax asks.

Chapter 59
“Of course. That’s a good idea. I’ll have my top trainers stay too, they could see different techniques.” She says with a smile.
“Great. Then maybe after I could take you on that official tour.” Jaxon says and I see a blush creep up Evan’s neck, pissing me off.
“You won’t have time for that.” I quickly say and they all turn their gazes at me.
“You and the trainers should meet together and come up with a plan. I’ll take Evan on the tour and when we get back you all can tell us what you came up with.” I say, leaving no room for argument. I walk to the center of the training field followed by curious gazes from Evan and Linc and thudding footsteps behind me.
“Dude. What is your problem?” Jax asks when he catches up with me. I turned to face him trying to contain
my anger.
“Why did you want to give her a tour?” I ask accusingly and he gives me a confusing look.
“I was ordered to two nights ago and haven’t had a chance to. Again, what is your problem?” He asks and! shake my head.
“I. I don’t know.” I half lie. I don’t know what has gotten into me.
