The Rogue Alpha and the Werewolf King (by Hailey Kristine) novel Chapter 71

Chapter 71

Evangelina’s POV

This past week was pretty much the same thing every day. Wake up from the pain of a cheating mate, Veena whimpering in my head for her loss of mate. Baking, training, meeting with Esmorelda on the progress of a missing memory potion or spell, then more training. I busied myself with training for all classes. Everybody was making great progress. Dinner came and then games or a movie in the game room. Our group has grown quite close in the past week. I find Jaxon giving me looks and sometimes making comments, but nothing like

that day.

Today was a little different though, last night was the first night in a week that I wasn’t awoken with the betrayal pains. I woke up with a rejuvenated sense of energy.

I skip down the stairs and notice that Jax and Linc were in the kitchen frowning.

Where are the pastries?Jax wines, when I walk in. I chuckle.

I actually slept in this morning. You’ll have to settle for a granola bar or a protein shake.” Isay, grabbing a banana from the counter. Jax grumbles and grabs 4 granola bars. I give him a look and he shrugs his shoulders.

What? 1 isn’t enough. He states opening the first one and shoves the whole thing in his mouth. I grimace at the sight and Linc laughs and smacks Jax on the back, causing him to choke and start coughing.

So you actually slept last night?Linc asks, knowing the cause for my sleepless nights. I smile and nod. Yes I did.I answer, walking towards the door.

Well damn. I thought you were a superhero who needed no sleep. This is a disappointing realization. It’s like finding out that Batman is a millionaire. Very anticlimatic.Jax says.

Hey! Don’t talk sh*t about batman he is the best.Henry says as he makes his way down the stairs. I roll my eyes and enjoy the walk to the training grounds, Listening to Henry and Jax argue over which superhero is the best.

Once everybody arrives we quickly fall into the routine of training. I hate to admit that Hadley has gotten better, but if she is going to be Luna she needs to know how to help protect her people.

-Marie is partnered with Warrick today and I notice that she is struggling. I walk over to observe the pair.

Warrick throws a ball of fire at her and she dodges, but then he anticipates his movements catching her with a right hook. She sees this, but tries to drop low to avoid it. He catches the top of her head with the hook then follows up, grabbing her by the throat with his other hand, holding her in the air. She shocks him and he lets her go.

Marie, you could have been dead. All he had to do was bring his other hand up and snap your neck.I say as she glares at him.

I know. She grunts. I walk into the square and motion for her to step to the side. Warrick looks at me surprised.

You saw the hook coming and chose to dodge. Next time, turn with the punch. It will land, but it won’t be as hard of a hit if you turn with it.I say and motion for Warrick to mimic the hook again. He looks at me in

confusion.

I can’t show her how to remedy the behavior if you don’t mimic it. Start with the fireball and go from there say and he nods his head in understanding. Throwing a fireball, that I dodge. He throws his right hook and as his fist connects with my face I let it turn my whole body, spinning around his hand and grabbing his arm, while using my knee to push him down. He lands with a thud, my knee in his back and his arm brought up in a manner that one little movement would dislocate his shoulder.

I stand up and walk to Marie, who has a smirk on her face.

Did you get it or do you need another demonstration?I ask and turn to see Warrick rolling his shoulder.

I think she got it.” Warrick grunted before Marie could answer. I nod my head.

Very well then.I say and walk away. I stop to observe another pair when I feel something tighten around my ankle. I look down to see a vine has wrapped around my ankle and look up to find who is the cause of this. I only see one woman, who has a bottle in her hand on the sidelines.

Diamond!I yell for her to stop, but the vine gets tighter. I hear a loud growl and see out of the corner of my eye a brown wolf lunging towards me with its jaw open wide

Everything seemed to slow down as each of my hands grabbed the top and bottom of the wolf’s jaw and I leaned back, using my body weight to stop the wolf. The vine disappears as the wolf goes down, me landing on its side, still keeping its jaw open wide. If I wanted to I could rip them open, but I don’t. Its face is turned awkwardly at an angle, I could also pull just a fraction and break its neck.

I hold the wolf like this until it relaxes in my grip. I shove its face back to the ground as I get up. It whimpers as it shifts back. Unsurprisingly, Hadley’s naked body lay on the ground crying.

I pull silver cuffs from my back pocket and hook one on her left hand.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?Warrick shouts, running up to me and grabbing a crying Hadley protectively. What are YOU doing?I ask standing up and looking him in the eyes. His orange and blue eyes flicking back and forth, showing me that his wolf is close to coming out.

You can’t put those on her.He states motioning towards the silver cuffs.

Then what do you propose I do? She tried to kill me.I say and he scoffs.

I really doubt that she thought she could kill you.He says and my mouth drops open.

You have got to be kidding me?I say in disbelief.

. No. I’ll take care of her punishment, you already embarrassed her enough by forcing her into submission and shifting in front of everybody. He said and my anger skyrocketed. He shakes his head and cradles her closer to his chest. The hand that is wrapped closer to her upper thigh moves, gripping her bare a*s hard. Causing a pang up electricity to shoot through my chest.

Trust me when I say her punishment will be more than adequate. Take the cuff off.He says.

No.I answer and he growls as he turns to walk away. My stomach turns as I realize what his punishment for her will be. Once he walks off the field I turn to everybody who is still watching them walk away. Training is done for today.I say as I turn away and see that Diamond has been put in the silver bracelets and is glaring at me. I ignore her and make my way to my bag, grabbing it. Knowing that with what is going to
