Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1878

With Stanley's issue resolved, Randy and Erica returned to the country and threw a celebration bash.

It was less a victory party and more a chance to catch up and gossip.

Lillian and Solomon sat bored at the table, listening to the adults' bragging.

"Back in the day, Marion was a legend. Now? Total letdown," Randy sighed. "No joke, when Marion showed up overseas, the whole scene shook. Who would guess 20 years later, he's a stay-at-home dad?"

He shook his head. "Time's a cruel thing."

Lillian leaned toward Solomon. "When's your dad gonna stop blowing hot air?"

Solomon, piling her plate. "He's old and loves spinning tall tales. Eat your food."

"Uncle Robert never brags."

"He barely talks."

Nearby, Robert and Drake sipped drinks, overhearing the kids.

They exchanged amused looks. Kids today had no clue what they'd been through. They wouldn't talk like that if they did.

Drake and Robert couldn't hide their grins. Who would have thought the fearless Marion Houston would be called a common guy?

"Remember that time Marion snapped a guy's throat barehanded?" Robert said, rare for him to talk so much. "We were on a mission in a barber shop. Young and reckless, we'd risk it all to survive. Marion saved you with a razor blade and took out ten guys single-handedly."

Drake nodded, recalling the event.

Shawn sent him to scope out a barbershop. It was the front of a small gang's operation.

He slipped up and got caught.
