Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1879

Waiting in the car, Marion sensed something was off.

He posed as a customer, slipped inside, and drove a razor blade into the guy's throat. Meanwhile, ten others stormed the warehouse and got Drake out.

Looking back, Drake didn't know what had fueled their fire. Because of just an order, they had thrown their lives on the line.

He took a deep drag on his cigarette, exhaling a slow smoke ring. "Man, we were so young back then."

He still remembered that winter when the three of them were pinned down in a dark alley.

In those chaotic gang days, the streets crawled with desperate outlaws. They fought hand-to-hand for two hours.

"You idiot!" Drake growled at Marion. "We're screwed because of you."

Robert frowned. "Weren't you the one running off? If not for you, we wouldn't be in this mess."

"Who asked you to show up? I could've handled them solo," Drake snorted.

"Big talk," Robert sneered. "Brag after we get out."

The alley echoed with the clink of iron bars. If the gang caught them, Shawn wouldn't lift a finger to help. They would just wait to die.

As the enemy closed in, Marion said, "We're down to the last resort."

Marion and Robert were beasts in a fight, mowing down anyone in front.

Drake spotted a weak point, attacked, and escaped with Robert.

"Marion! Move it!" he shouted.

One second later, the gap would close. Marion elbowed a guy down and bolted with them.

They ran until the gang's footsteps faded. Drake collapsed, panting. "I'm done. Those jerks can really hustle."

"You're just weak," Robert taunted. "Keep this up, and Shawn will cut you loose in months."
