Ezra, who had always been idle and considered himself superior, suddenly realized that only a man like Sebastian could truly be called a real man.
He regarded Sebastian as his idol, constantly thinking that if he ever had the chance, he must personally apologize and make amends. Yet he didn’t dare interfere in Sebastian’s life, so he waited, hoping for the day Sebastian might return to the bar.
Tonight, he finally heard from Howard that Sebastian had arrived. The moment he got the call, he rushed back- only to miss him.
Unexpectedly, however, Ezra saw Hera and her two friends booking a private room at the bar. Having investigated Sebastian before, he immediately recognized Hera as Sebastian’s wife.
Soon, Ezra noticed Bull and his gang tailing Hera’s group into the bar. He knew something bad was about to happen. He knew all too well the vile nature of those three hooligans.
Nonetheless, Ezra held back until the last moment, determined to let Hera fully see Edmund’s true colors. He was nothing but a coward, useless to the core. If Ezra could help Sebastian salvage his marriage, perhaps he might even earn Sebastian’s approval.
As Ezra contemplated this, Hera spoke, her tone complicated. “How do you know about my marriage? Why did you save me?”
She seemed to recall something and tested cautiously, “Could it be… you know Sebastian? Did he send you?”
Ezra had been watching Hera’s eyes closely, but he saw no regret–only confusion and probing.
His anger boiled over, and he couldn’t help but curse, “In your dreams! There’s no way Sebastian would bother with an ingrate like you! If it weren’t for Sebastian, do you think I’d care about you? What, do you still not realize your own mistakes?”
Ezra scoffed and pointed at Edmund, who sulked in the corner. “Look at that pathetic piece of crap! Only you would fall for a dog like him!”
The private room fell silent.
Mila’s face paled in shock, while Edmund, the target of Ezra’s insult, looked utterly humiliated.
Faced with Ezra’s aggression, Hera felt no remorse. Instead, her face grew cold, and her pride flared. She had always been a cold, arrogant woman. How could she tolerate a stranger accusing her? Even Sebastian couldn’t do that, let alone Ezra.
“Even if Edmund is unreliable, I’d still choose him. What does that have to do with an outsider like you? You’re not Sebastian, and you’re not me. How could you possibly know what’s wrong with our marriage? Don’t act so self -righteous. What right do you have to say I’m wrong? Sebastian is the one at fault in this marriage!” she barked.
Ezra’s eyes went wide in disbelief. He could hardly believe such nonsense could come from a supposedly intelligent adult. Then he suddenly understood Sebastian, and he was so furious that he laughed.
