Goodbye Saintess (by Edelweiss W.S.) novel Chapter 184

**The Unseen Kingdom That Followed Me Into Every Dream by Alyndra Meron Valeen 184**

Mila clicked her tongue in frustration, the sound sharp and cutting through the air like a knife. “Tonight was the perfect opportunity! She just had a huge fight with Sebastian and is dead set on divorcing him. I thought you’d be able to charm her into bed. What good are you if you can’t even do that? You useless piece of crap!”

Edmund, feeling the weight of her scorn, lowered his head, his shoulders slumping under the burden of her words. “Stop nagging me, Mila. Do you think I’m not just as frustrated as you are?” His voice was thick with helplessness. “But you don’t understand. Bull and his gang are ruthless. If they catch you overseas and you try to resist… they’ll beat you to death without a second thought.”

Mila’s irritation flared even hotter at his display of cowardice. She crossed her arms tightly, her lips pressed into a thin line. “Forget it. We’ll have to discuss this later.”

“Later? What later?” His voice was tinged with desperation, as if he were grasping for a lifeline in the turbulent sea of their plans.

“By now, Hera is probably already on her way to investigate whether Sebastian is really involved with that older woman. Once she finds out nothing actually happened, she’ll just reconcile with him!” Mila’s words came out in a rush, the urgency of the situation clear in her tone.

“No way!” Edmund’s eyes widened in disbelief, the shock evident on his face. “If he didn’t hook up with some rich old woman, how the hell did he suddenly gain so much power? He’s nothing but a pathetic loser!”

Mila’s disdain for Edmund had reached a boiling point, and in a moment of spiteful clarity, she found herself defending Sebastian. “Hmph! Even if Sebastian is useless, at least in that moment, he wouldn’t just lie there like a coward, too afraid to move.”

“Sure, he may lack skills,” she continued, her voice rising with indignation. “But that man has backbone. He would never cling to some wealthy older woman. That’s exactly what I told Hera—to make sure you two could seal the deal sooner rather than later.”

Her words only served to infuriate Edmund further. “Enough! Don’t pretend this is all for Hera and me. Wasn’t it you who promised that once I got together with her, we’d both get a cut of the money? We’re both in this mess together. Don’t act like you’re some kind of saint.”
