Goodbye Saintess (by Edelweiss W.S.) novel Chapter 92

Hera waved her pass mockingly in front of my face. “See this? You need one of these to get into the Forum. Do you even have a pass?”

A pass? Baron hadn’t given me any when he invited me to come.

“No,” I replied firmly. “And I don’t need one.” Without hesitation, I brushed past her.

But she caught up swiftly, a smug grin spreading across her face as if she’d caught me in a lie. “Stop pretending, Sebastian. I’m willing to share my pass with you. Just show some humility and follow me inside. No one will say a word. After all, we’re married.”

Then, with a sneer, she added, “If you thought about forcing your way in, think again. Baron Inc.’s security will tear you apart. It’d be humiliating. Honestly, I’d just pretend I don’t know you. Public embarrassment isn’t really my thing.”

I stared at her, disbelief written all over my face. “Has anyone ever recommended you see a doctor for your delusions?”

Her expression darkened instantly. “Sebastian! I’m trying to help you, and this is how you respond?”

Hera had always been proud and aloof. For her, talking this much to me was already a rare gesture of kindness.

I didn’t say another word and picked up my pace.

“Jackass!” she spat for the first time, grinding her teeth as she hurried to keep up.

“Of course, ma’am. Welcome.”

“Thanks!” Hera sighed, her eyes immediately searching for Sebastian. When she spotted him, a quiet sneer curled her lips.

He really thought he could fake it till he made it, didn’t he? Believed he could force his way into a world far beyond his reach. But in the end, he only got in because of her pass. Without her, he was nothing.

“See? You got into the Forum with me, in a way,” Hera gloated. “You must be secretly plotting to get back together with me. I know you too well. You can’t fool me.”
