Jennifer was in the middle of giving orders when she turned and noticed Arthur standing there. She quickly walked over, linking her arm through his with a bright smile.
“So, Arthur, what do you think? Do you like it?”
Arthur looked at her, a flicker of uncertainty in his eyes.
Jennifer rushed to explain, “This place was just too dull before. It needed some personality. I had these fresh flowers specially delivered. Don’t you think the whole house feels more alive now? I really wanted to make it nice. Hope you like it.” She looked at him, a mix of hope and shyness in her expression.
Arthur let his gaze sweep across the rooms. The entire house did feel different.
Chloe had always been the one to handle these things before, and Jennifer had never shown the slightest interest. Now that Chloe was gone, this place no longer had its lady of the house.
Well, if Jennifer wanted to use her free time to play decorator, he wasn’t going to stop her.
Honestly, Arthur’s mind was elsewhere. The Myers Group was in desperate need of a major cash infusion. He had shifted every available fund, but it wasn’t nearly enough. The partnership deal he had been counting on with Cosmos Group was going nowhere, leaving him in a passive spot.
It was his first time feeling this way, and deep down, he couldn’t help but feel unwilling to let it go. He hadn’t even managed to get a meeting with the head of Cosmos Group. His team had sent over proposal after proposal, but they never got a single response.
He just couldn’t understand what had gone wrong.
Later that night, Chloe pulled up outside the most popular bar in Capaville–Nightfall Club.
She stepped out of her car, a neatly wrapped gift box in her hand. Tossing her keys to the valet, she eyed the crowded, noisy entrance and frowned slightly. Her friend sure knew how to pick a spot–this place was packed.
To keep a low profile, she had tied her hair up and changed into something more casual before coming.
She made her way inside and found a secluded booth in the back corner.
After settling in, she flagged down a server and ordered two mojitos. Pulling out her phone, she sent a quick text. Just as she looked up, she spotted someone walking through the door.

The figure was tall with sharp, short hair, dressed in a seriously cool biker jacket and wearing sunglasses. The most striking feature was the bold moon tattoo on their neck.
Seriously cool. It was impossible to look away.
They took off the sunglasses, revealing even more striking eyes that scanned the room, clearly searching for someone.
From the moment they entered, the energy in the room shifted. People were staring. A few women at the bar, even those with dates, couldn’t stop sneaking glances.
Chloe watched the scene, fighting back a laugh.
Soon, the newcomer’s eyes met hers. As they walked straight over, a sly grin spread across Chloe’s face.
That outfit is a total head–turner.
Oralia is really a master of transformation.
This look? A total knockout, appealing to everyone. No wonder she’d taken the world by storm with just one music video, amassing a fiercely loyal fanbase. There was a reason for it.
“Well, well, look what the cat dragged in,” Oralia said, strutting over and dropping into the seat across from Chloe. With the two of them sitting together, they looked like a perfect, if unconventional, pair.
Oralia’s style was so arresting that she instantly became the center of attention. Chloe had purposely chosen the corner to stay under the radar, but with Oralia there, every eye in the place seemed drawn to their table.
Especially the women. Once they saw Oralia was sitting with another woman, their attention shifted to Chloe’s stunning face. She was dressed simply, but once you noticed her, it was hard to look away.
So, the cool one was here for her.
They did look good together.
Oralia didn’t seem to care about the stares. After sitting down, she struck a pose, showing off her outfit to Chloe with obvious pride.
She’d hidden her long hair under a short, stylish wig and had even ridden her motorcycle over just to complete the look.
:
“Pretty cool, huh?” Oralia said, raising an eyebrow flirtatiously. “Feel like a ride later? I’ll take you.”
