Chapter 111 Invitation
What exactly did Chloe have that qualified her to lead an entire collection?
Fintatied
Linda had worked her way up at the company over three years through sheer effort. She once led the department’s designers to create multiple designs for the “To Me” collection on Valentine’s Day. It became the brand’s best–selling series that year, helping her successfully rise to the position of chief designer in the department.
She had expected to be promoted to director this time. Who could have predicted they would bring in some outsider from who knows where? Linda simply couldn’t accept this.
Recently, everyone in the design department had been whispering about Chloe. All the respect and admiration that used to be directed at Linda had now shifted to Chloe.
Who does Chloe think she is? No achievements, no skills–how’s she fit to be director?
Beyond her appearance, she’s got nothing to offer!
Bet she just used her pretty face to sweet–talk some executive upstairs and snagged that overpaid director gig.
Linda’s eyes fell on what Diana was carrying. Her voice turned cold. “Are those Chloe’s design drafts in your hands?”
Diana instinctively took a step back, holding the drafts more securely while forcing a smile. “Ms. Dorsey, Lisa, I have tasks to complete, so I’ll be going now.”
As the elevator doors opened, Diana quickly stepped inside and repeatedly pressed the button for her floor.
Linda and Lisa watched her depart from the elevator entrance. Linda’s expression grew frosty.
“She’s just an assistant–who does she think she is? If the company hadn’t assigned her to this so–called new director, she’d probably still be doing odd jobs around the design department,” Lisa said with a sneer. Linda shot Lisa a look, her eyes darkening. “Haven’t you been wanting that promotion and raise? I need you to do something for me…”
After leaving the office, Chloe headed to the underground parking garage to retrieve her car when she sudden heard someone shouting.
“Come on, just go with me, please! He’s been pestering me for days–I owe him this favor…”
It was Landon’s voice.
Chloe paused and looked toward the commotion. Not far away, beside a flashy G–Class, Landon leaned against the vehicle with one hand while gripping his phone with the other, looking ready to tear his hair
out.
The president of Cosmos Group, behaving like this? Honestly, seeing him like this was almost comical. Chloe hadn’t planned to get involved, but Landon’s call got cut off, leaving him fuming. When he turned

around, he spotted Chloe.
“Ms. Lewis!”
Landon’s eyes lit up as if he’d found his salvation, and he quickly strode over to her.
Chloe remained where she was, watching him approach. “Mr. Voss.”
“Ms. Lewis, I heard from the PR director that your designs are all finished.”
Chloe nodded. “That’s right.”
Finished
“Your work always lives up to the excitement, especially the final products. With you onboard, I’m confident Cosmos Group will achieve great results this time,” Landon said with a grin. “And hey, the bonus will be doubled.”
“Thank you, Mr. Voss. I’m looking forward to it too.”
Landon looked Chloe over for a moment before suddenly changing the subject. “Do you have plans this weekend? Would you consider working overtime? I’m offering ten times your usual rate!”
“Oh?” Chloe raised an eyebrow.
“Here’s the situation: there’s a major charity auction coming up. Cosmos Group received an invitation, but I don’t have a plus–one. Any chance you could give up your weekend and accompany me?” Landon asked with complete seriousness.
“Charity auction?” Chloe’s eyes showed clear interest at these words.
“I gotta talk over a few partnership things at the auction, but I’m short on time. I mean, I’m representing Cosmos Group here–I can’t just grab some random person for something this big,” Landon stressed. “So what’s your call, Ms. Lewis?”
A charity auction! She’d been trying to figure out how to get an invitation.
And now the opportunity had fallen right into her lap.
Maybe this was meant to be!
