Chapter 118 Red Invitation
“Are we close?” Chloe said with a cool smile. “Do you really know anything about who I am?”
“I… Jennifer lowered her head even further, looking uncomfortable.

The commotion at the entrance began attracting more guests. Several people stopped to watch what was happening.
Arthur noticed the growing crowd and realized that if people found out about his past with Chloe, it could cause problems for the Myers family’s reputation.
“There are too many people here. We’ll discuss this another time. I’m not bringing you in today. You should leave now.” Arthur reached out toward Jennifer.
Seeing this, Jennifer immediately stepped forward gracefully and linked her arm with his.
She made sure to push her hair back, clearly showing off the necklace around her neck. Chloe could clearly see the jewelry Jennifer was wearing–around her neck, on her wrist, and on her fingers.
All of those pieces had been Arthur’s gifts to Chloe for their wedding. Now that Chloe was out of the Myers family, everything had ended up with Jennifer. The meaning was obvious–Chloe no longer had any place in the Myers family.
The true lady of the Myers family, the woman who would stand beside the head of Myers Group, would always be Jennifer.
“You know, if this were a movie, you two would’ve been dead a long time ago. Want to know why?” Chloe raised an eyebrow, her eyes fixed on Arthur. “Because in the stories, villains always die from talking too much!”
“You…” Arthur started to reply but found himself speechless.
When had Chloe become so quick with her words? Who taught her to talk like that?
“There are so many guests at this party. Are you going to stop and question every single one about whether they deserve to be here?” Chloe glanced at the three of them, her tone relaxed. “What, do you own this place or something? Why do you care so much?”
The three fell into silence.
“You really now how to make everything about you. Maybe the host should give you a special award for that!” With that, Chloe turned smoothly, took the invitation from her purse, and handed it to the staff member.
The staff member saw the red invitation in Chloe’s hand and immediately stood up straighter.
“Ms. Lewis, please…” The staff member accepted the invitation and gave Chloe a respectful nod.
“Ms. Lewis, right this way.” Another staff member came over and personally escorted Chloe into the main
hall.

Chapter 118 Red invitation
Finished
“Thank you.” Chloe gave a soll smile, lifted the edge of her dress, and walked inside with graceful steps, following the staff.
Arthur stood frozen, shocked that Chloe had entered the venue so easily.
She hadn’t come to ask him for help–she had simply walked in on her own.
Jennifer and Madilyn were left speechless. They couldn’t believe what they had just seen. Chloe had gotten in without any trouble, and the staff hadn’t even properly checked her invitation–they just let her pass.
Wait a minute!
Her invitation was red. Since when were there red invitations?
Weren’t Mistveil Manor invitations only gold or silver? Silver was standard, gold was extremely rare–only about 20 of those. Everyone knew that when the event was announced.
Since when did Mistveil Manor use red invitations?
“Where on earth did she get that invitation?” Madilyn muttered angrily, her brows furrowed tight. “This makes absolutely no sense. How did she waltz in so easily without a proper check?”
Madilyn grumbled under her breath, jaw clenched with irritation. She wasted no time hurrying forward, determined to catch up to Chloe and figure out what trick she was playing.
“Excuse me, ma’am, may I see your invitation?” The second Madilyn stepped into the entrance hall, a staff member stepped in front of her, blocking her path.
“What?” Madilyn’s eyes shot wide open, disbelief written all over her face. “How dare you stop me? Do you have any clue who I am?!”
The staff member stayed calm and didn’t flinch an inch. “I apologize, ma’am, but our rules are firm. We must check every guest’s invitation upon entry. There are absolutely no exceptions, regardless of who you are.”
Madilyn was about to explode, but Arthur stepped in and handed over his own invitation. The staff member accepted it politely.
Seeing other people watching, Madilyn held back her anger and pulled her own gold invitation from her evening bag.
