Chapter 150: Burning Hot

Anthony’s face darkened further as he absorbed his subordinate’s suggestion. Taking out some insignificant nobody would be a simple task. Once chaos was unleashed, who would dare to retaliate?
While he was still formulating a plan to create a distraction, another subordinate hurried over, panic written all over his face.
“Mr. Ruiz, there’s an urgent call from Mr. Kerry Ruiz!” The man rushed forward, phone in hand, clearly flustered.
Anthony stared at the device, baffled. During the auctions at Mistveil Manor, all external signals were supposed to be blocked. How had this call come through?
“It’s an internal line within the manor,” the subordinate explained breathlessly. “Mr. Kerry Ruiz has critical instructions. He contacted Mr. Mull directly and demands you answer immediately.” He thrust the phone into Anthony’s hand.
Anthony’s jaw tightened. He had no clue why Kerry would reach out at such a tense moment, but he accepted the phone and pressed it to his ear.
“You reckless fool! If you want to avoid six feet under, get back here right now! I want you standing in front of me within thirty minutes!” Kerry’s furious voice exploded through the receiver before Anthony could say a word.
Anthony pulled the phone away, stunned. He had never heard Kerry this enraged before. Even when Anthony’s reckless actions had cost lives, Kerry had only sighed heavily and scolded him quietly.
But this time, there was something different in his voice—an undercurrent of nervousness, panic, and… fear.
“Grandfather…” Anthony murmured, a chill running down his spine.
“Stop wasting time and return immediately!” Kerry’s roar cut through the line, his anger escalating.
Unease settled deep within Anthony’s gut. He had no idea what could have provoked such a reaction. Glancing at his subordinate, he tossed the phone back and strode away abruptly.
Chloe—she would have to wait. For now, he would let her off the hook.

“If you keep pestering me, I’ll have our head designer cancel your dress order,” Landon said seriously, taking a small step back. “As her employer, she has to listen to me.”
Selina sidled up to Chloe with a sly smile, draping an arm around her shoulders. “Darling, working under such a boss must be exhausting. Why don’t you leave Cosmos Group and join my family’s company? I’ll make you CEO right away. You’ll grow it bigger and stronger, no doubt.”
She tilted her head, eyes sparkling. “What do you say?”
Chloe found Selina amusing—one moment she was commanding and dominant like a boss, the next she was soft and clingy.
Suddenly, Eugene shifted abruptly, bumping into Chloe’s side where she sat.
Chapter 350: Burning Hot
The unexpected contact pulled Chloe from her thoughts, and she noticed Eugene’s odd behavior.
He set his wine glass down on the table with a frown, staring at it as if it held some secret.
Chloe took in every detail.
