He Cheated I Rose: Making Him Regret Everything (Chloe and Arthur) novel Chapter 306

**A Promise Hidden in the Quiet Rain by Adrian Hale**
**Chapter 306: Silent Vengeance**

In the depths of her turmoil, Jennifer found a strange comfort in the darkness that surrounded her. She had already descended into the abyss, so what was a little more descent?

Chloe… this was merely the beginning of their true confrontation.

“Mom, do you think the old man from the Myers family will ever accept us?” Jenarth’s small voice broke through the silence, pulling Jennifer from her thoughts.

She turned her gaze toward the bedroom door, where her son stood, a quiet observer. His eyes were wide with a mixture of hope and uncertainty, and she could see the weight of their situation pressing down on him. He had been there the entire time, absorbing the tension in the air like a sponge.

If Arthur had remained indifferent to her announcement of impending motherhood, Jenarth was ready to step up and take on the role of protector. But the unexpected shift in Arthur’s demeanor upon hearing the news had rendered that unnecessary. It struck her then—if only she had revealed this card sooner, perhaps she could have avoided much of the turmoil that had ensued.

“Whether he accepts us or not is irrelevant,” Jennifer replied, her tone steady and resolute. She pivoted gracefully, the sorrow that once clouded her features now replaced by a veneer of cold pride and unyielding arrogance. “What I truly desire is for Arthur to conduct himself appropriately.”

In a spacious, dimly lit room, a large screen flickered to life, replaying segments from Arthur’s press conference. The atmosphere was thick with anticipation as the audience watched intently.

“Chloe and I were once married. Unfortunately, we’ve since gone our separate ways…” Arthur’s voice resonated through the room, earnest and reflective, as he recounted his past with Chloe.

The screen captured the moment Arthur bowed his head in apology, a gesture that seemed genuine. Yet, just as he straightened to face the audience again, the sharp crack of a gunshot shattered the air. The bullet found its mark, striking the screen squarely between Arthur’s eyes.

Time seemed to freeze as the image hung there, a haunting reminder of what had just transpired. The screen faded to black, leaving behind a smoldering hole where Arthur’s face had once been, a cruel testament to Vincent’s rage.

Vincent stood there, gun in hand, his expression twisted with contempt. “Apologize? You’re not even worthy of that,” he spat, his voice dripping with ice.

He aimed the weapon at the screen, as though Arthur were standing right before him, vulnerable and exposed.

“If she hadn’t told me to stay out of this, I would have torn you to shreds and used your remains as fertilizer,” Vincent mused, casually spinning the gun between his fingers. “Three months can feel like an eternity.”

“My dear Clo-Clo, how could you have ever fallen for such a worthless piece of trash? You deserve so much more than him.”

He paused, his voice lowering to a conspiratorial tone. “The one who deserves you should be extraordinary—someone who stands at the pinnacle of power.”

“Clo-Clo… You’ve enjoyed your freedom for six long years. It’s time to come home now.”

His tone shifted, becoming almost tender. “It’s time to settle down. The precious girl I’ve nurtured with such care… No one else is permitted to touch you. You can only belong to me. You will remain by my side.”
