“That’s right—a real family life. With our child, you, and me… When the time comes, I’ll buy you anything you want,” the man said, his impatience taking over. He grabbed Jennifer and threw her onto the soiled mattress.
Jennifer let out a low grunt but offered no resistance, the cigarette still dangling loosely from her fingers.
The man climbed on top of her, beginning his unrestrained assault. In the dim, squalid room, the only sounds were heavy breathing and the creaking of the worn–out mattress.
Afterward, exhausted, the man lay sprawled across the mattress. Staring at the stained ceiling, he felt a surge of arrogant satisfaction, already fantasizing about the luxurious life the money would bring.
Once Jennifer secured a hefty settlement from Arthur–what people called a “breakup payout“—it would be more than enough for them to live in comfort.
“Hah, when that happens, I’m gonna drink top–shelf whiskey every day. I’m so sick of eating cheap takeout all the time,” the man said, reaching out casually to pull Jennifer closer. But the space beside him was empty–she had already moved away.
Sitting up, he saw Jennifer back in the chair, calmly putting her clothes back on. The sight of her pale skin marked with traces from their encounter only heightened his smug satisfaction.
“You look incredible right now. Don’t get dressed yet–let me take a few pictures!”
He grabbed his phone and began snapping photo after photo of her.
Looking through the images, a pleased expression spread across his face.
“Heh, when I’m lonely, I get by watching your videos! These shots are perfect. And that clip from last time at the hotel–wanna see it again?” He swiped through his gallery and played a video without waiting for her reply.
The video showed him and Jennifer together in a hotel bed. The visuals and audio were explicit and vulgar, but the man watched with obvious relish.
The sounds felt especially jarring in that shabby, neglected room.
Watching this, Jennifer’s expression grew eerily calm. Despite the graphic noises coming from the phone, a faint smile touched her lips, as though she were… pleased.
Noticing her reaction, the man paused the video. He stared at her. “What are you smiling about?”

Before, whenever he had shown her these recordings, Jennifer would become submissive, even begging him on her knees not to leak them. She’d promise to do anything he wanted if he just kept them private.
She had even… humiliated herself, satisfying him and sometimes his friends right there on the floor.
All of it had been leverage he held over her. But today, Jennifer seemed not to care–she was even smiling. That kind of shift could only mean trouble.
“Did I make you feel that good just now? Is that why you’re smiling?” he probed. He had plenty of ways to make this obedient bitch fall back in line.
“Of course I’m happy.” Jennifer met his gaze, a faint smile still playing on her lips. “Do you know why?”
The man’s eyes narrowed, a greedy gleam appearing. “How much did Arthur give you? Hundreds of millions?”
Jennifer didn’t answer, simply maintaining her smile.
“Don’t tell me… he gave you even more?” The man grew excited, scrambling up from the mattress. Not bothering to dress, he exclaimed, “He didn’t… hand over his shares in Myers Group, did he? No love, so just money? All of it? Is that it?”
Looking at his ugly, eager face, Jennifer’s eyes gradually turned cold. “There’s even more than that.”
“Even more… then…” He stood there, trembling with excitement, as if realizing something. He tried to speak, but his body staggered.
With a choked gasp, he spat a mouthful of blood. The next moment, he collapsed to the floor. He tried to get up, but found he had no strength left.
“You… What did you do? What’s wrong with me?” he stammered, reaching a trembling hand toward Jennifer, but he couldn’t even grasp anything. The phone in his hand clattered to the floor, skidding away.
It lay where it fell, the video still playing. Those sounds now seemed especially grotesque.
The mingled voices of the man and woman from the recording continued, fitting right in with the filth surrounding them, as if they belonged there.
Jennifer glanced at the phone on the floor. She rose gracefully and walked over to it. She looked at the scenes still playing–images that had haunted her, that had once driven her to the brink.
