“Carolyn, you grew up in the Lewis Manor, living the life of a princess. But me…” Chloe let out an exaggerated sigh, feigning helplessness. “I was supposed to be the legitimate heiress, yet I suffered out in the countryside. We’re sisters, aren’t we? Doesn’t that ever weigh on your conscience?”

“I…” Carolyn was lost for words, her eyes wide with disbelief.

That lousy Chloe–how dare she talk so brazenly?! Sisters? Who the heck does she think she is?! She’s not even worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence!

Her expression turned hopeful. “Monique, you all ignored me for years. How about making it up to me with a lump sum payment–say, eight or ten million dollars? That should keep me going, right?”

Monique’s face darkened. She wanted to order the housekeeper to throw Chloe out immediately. How could this girl have the audacity to be so shameless?

She actually had the nerve to demand her room back and now she wanted money too? Disgusting! She wished Chloe would just vanish.

Monique restrained herself from lunging at Chloe. She forced a tight smile. “Chloe, why would I take your mother’s belongings? After she passed away, I’ve been taking good care of all her things this entire time!”

“If that’s truly the case, then please hand over my mother’s jewelry to me now,” Chloe said, extending her hand expectantly, waiting for Monique to comply.

“Chloe, even if you were still Mrs. Myers, you couldn’t be so reckless with money. Does the Myers family know you behave this way?” Monique tried to steer the conversation back to Chloe’s extravagance, using the Myers name as a shield.

“Chloe, you’ve truly disappointed your father. How could you act this way?” Monique sighed, her eyes brimming with unconcealed contempt.

“Mr. Lewis, if you find me such an embarrassment, I’ll leave. From this day forward, I want nothing more to do with this family.”

“Get out!” Scott shouted, so enraged he nearly stamped his foot.

“Fine, I’m leaving. I never wanted to be here in the first place!” Chloe declared, turning to go.

Carolyn watched Chloe prepare to leave and couldn’t contain her glee.
