Chapter 3
On my way home, I saw that a new dessert shop had opened downstairs in the neighborhood.
People were walking out carrying cakes.
The ten–layer cake Austin had given me that day, the packaging box was the same.
Stella’s dessert shop.
Stella had a sweet smile on her face: “My boyfriend saw I liked making desserts, so he invested 500,000 to help me open this shop.”
So they really were bold enough to do it right under my nose, secretly carrying on behind my back.
Stella enthusiastically pulled me inside: “Gianna, it’s our grand opening today! You can pick anything, it’s on me!”
She browsed through the items and picked out a box, her tone dripping with obvious provocation.
…How about strawberry pudding? It’s a new item, I’ve never sold it to anyone before.”
“Does it suit your taste?”
I looked up and accepted it without hesitation, “Sure.”
Stella gave a forced smile, turning away to angrily pack up the dessert.
The moment I received the authentication results, a sharp pain surged in my
chest.
The Hermes bag Austin had given me was a fake.

Chapter 3
Three years ago, we still lived in the urban village.
Austin worked hard every day, carning just over a hundred,
I remember us wandering the night market together, and he took all the spare change in his pockets just to buy me a bag.
“Gianna, although I can’t afford to buy you luxury brands right now, I believe that one day, I’ll be able to make you carry branded bags.”
But he didn’t understand.
What I wanted wasn’t a branded bag; it was a heart that truly cared.
I went to the most experienced lawyer in town: “I want a divorce.”
The phone call ended.
Austin had just come in.
“Honey, who were you on the phone with? You sounded so happy, now I’m jealous.”
I kept my expression neutral, “A friend.”
“By the way, did you know there’s a new dessert shop downstairs?”
Austin’s movements froze as he was taking off his shoes.
“Yeah, it’s new. The cake I brought you last time was from there.”
He seemed relaxed and at ease.
There wasn’t a trace of hesitation.
“Why?”

I pushed the box of strawberry pudding toward him, “Stella gave it to me. Want to try it.
A flicker of discomfort crossed Austin’s eyes.
He explained, unfazed, “It’s just downstairs. The cake I brought you last time was from her shop too. How’s it taste?”
I looked up and asked him, “Why don’t you ask me who Stella is?”
The air seemed to freeze.
We locked eyes.
Austin was visibly flustered and unsure.
I suddenly laughed out loud: “Why are you so nervous? I’m just teasing you.‘
Austin leaned in toward my neck, about to kiss me, “Honey, her dessert shop is named after her, it’s not hard to guess. I thought you didn’t trust me.”
I pushed him away, “Stop it.”
“I’m feeling a little dizzy today. I’m going to take a shower first.”
