Chapter 4

I stared at Melody in shock. My mind went completely blank.

The marriage certificate was fake…

Just a warm body…

“You actually thought he loved you? Babe, he only kept you because I couldn’t give him what he needed in bed. You were just convenient–a warm body to use. That’s all you ever were.”

“Sienna, you’re so fucking pathetic.”

I suddenly laughed–but it came out broken, almost hysterical. Hot tears streamed down my face before I could stop them.

I never thought the truth would be this humiliating.

All those nights he’d taken me over and over–I’d thought it meant he loved me.

Turned out, it was all because he loved someone else.

I laughed harder. My chest shook with it until it hurt.

Melody frowned and stepped back.

“Are you losing it?”

I opened my bloodshot eyes and looked straight at her.

“If I’m nothing to him, why are you so threatened by me?”

Melody’s eyes went wide for a split second–panic. Then fury took over.

She dug her nails into my wounds, twisting. I bit back a gasp.

“Threatened? Don’t make me laugh. He’ll never see you as more than a convenient lay.”

“And I’ll make sure you never get the chance to change that. Ever.”

She snapped her fingers. And her men drag me away.

“Let go of me! Where-”

I fought as hard as I could, but after everything, I had no strength left.

I don’t know how long passed before I found myself gagged with a rag, strapped down to an operating table.

A curtain separated me from the next room.

I could hear Melody was crying. Her voice sounded choked.

“Garrett, it still hurts so much. You’re not gonna think I’m disgusting now, are you?”

“Someone saw me down there. I’m so ashamed I could die.”

Garrett cupped her face. His voice went soft–so soft it made my chest tighten painfully.

Chapter 4

“Disgusting? Baby, never. I love you way too much to ever feel that way.”

“They were doctors, sweetheart. You’re just a patient to them. It’s not personal.”

Melody pressed against him.

“I don’t care! I don’t want anyone looking at me like that!”

“What more do you want from me? I already threw Sienna in jail for you.”

“It’s not enough.”

Melody looked up at him through her tears.

Garrett kissed her. His voice sounded casual as he said:

“Then let’s use her as a teaching model. A live demo.”

Melody didn’t say anything else. But my eyes went huge with horror.

I tried so hard to speak, but no sound came out.

Before long, a dozen med students got brought into the room.

They stripped every piece of clothing off me.

Then bent me into a position that took away every last bit of dignity.

I heard someone swallow hard. Shame crashed over me like a wave.

Just then, from the next room came heavy breathing.

“Baby, come try me out. Let’s see if I can handle you now.”

Her voice came through the curtain–breathy, dripping with invitation. Every word cut into me.

Then I heard Garrett. A low, guttural groan.

Right then, cold metal got shoved inside my body.

“Mmph!”

I couldn’t stop shaking. Tears slid down from the corners of my eyes.

“God, baby, you feel so fucking good. Am I better? Better than her? Tell me.”

I heard Garrett through the curtain–every word crystal clear, every word a knife.

“You, babe, Always you. She was nothing. Just a body to fuck when I needed it. No different than a blow–up doll.”

Something inside me shattered. Completely.

The sounds from next door got louder and louder. And the heat in the room kept rising.

Someone couldn’t help unbuttoning their shirt.

“Let’s try out the dilator. See how well it works.”

I don’t know how long passed. Long enough my tears had dried up.

Chapter 4

I got tossed on the operating table like a broken doll. The area under me was bright red with blood.

After Garrett got Melody to fall asleep, he went outside to smoke and made a phone call.

“Did you bring my wife home?”

His assistant hesitated for two seconds before speaking.

“Sir, wasn’t Mrs. Hale taken to the hospital?”

Garrett frowned. Right then, he heard a few med students talking not far away.

“That woman just now felt pretty damn good…”

“Heard she used to be a doctor who did private area surgeries…”

Garrett’s heart jumped hard. He turned around and walked back fast, yanking open the curtain.

What he saw made his pupils shrink instantly.
