The guys looked at each other, shaking and too scared to talk.
They weren’t stupid. They knew if they actually said anything, their futures would be destroyed.
Garrett saw right through them. One look from him, and the bodyguards behind him moved.
The guys all got beaten until they dropped to their knees begging. One of them had blood all over his face. He cried out and spoke first.
“We were just doing a practice run. Training… that’s all…”
Garrett went completely still. His jaw locked.
Training. The same word. It couldn’t be…
“Who was the woman on that table?”
They shook their heads desperately, some sobbing so hard they could barely breathe.
“We don’t know! Someone just told us to show up! We don’t know who she was! Please!”
“Yeah, we really don’t know anything. Please let us go…”
Garrett stared at them coldly.
His gaze shifted and locked onto one specific person.
“You just said the person on the operating table was also a doctor?”
The guy who got called out shook all over with fear.
He was about to speak when Melody suddenly showed up.
Melody looked at those guys and her heart started pounding. Her face went pale as she grabbed Garrett’s hand and spoke nervously.
“Garrett, what’s going on? Who are these people?”
Garrett glanced at the bodyguards. Quick as anything, all the guys got dragged out.
“It’s nothing. Just had a small thing to ask them.”
Garrett looked at Melody. His eyes were completely black.
A guess had already formed in his mind, but he hoped it wasn’t true.
An hour later, the bodyguard who’d finished questioning came back.
He was about to speak when the assistant’s call came in.
“Mr. Hale, I know who did it. Miss Winters ordered the guards to hurt Mrs. Hale.”
“She took Mrs. Hale this morning, right after she got out of the holding cell.”
“They went to the hospital.”
The place Melody took me was the exact same operating room from earlier.

Chapter 6
Right then, another bodyguard pushed someone covered in blood into the room.
His left leg was already broken. His wrist and fingers had been snapped too. He was sprawled on the ground like a pile of mush.
Tears and blood mixed together on his face as he spoke, shaking.
“They told us to come for some kind of demonstration. The woman on the table, I… I really don’t know her…”
“But… but I saw she had… had a red mole on the left side of her chest…”
“We… we weren’t planning to do anything. But then we heard them next door. The moaning, the sounds of them fucking… it was so fucking loud. We just… we couldn’t stop ourselves.”
“I’m so sorry. I know I’m a piece of shit. Please, don’t kill me. I don’t wanna die.”
Garrett stood completely still. His face showed zero expression.
But the pressure coming off him hit like a tidal wave.
He thought about earlier–he’d been in the bed right next door with Melody.
And at that exact time, I’d been going through inhuman torture.
Garrett’s fists clenched tight. He couldn’t believe the person on the operating table was really me.
He also couldn’t believe these people had actually dared to touch me.
The next second, the hospital’s security footage got sent over.
The video clearly showed me getting brought in. But after that, there was no footage of me leaving.
“Where is she? Where the hell did you hide her?”
Garrett’s voice sounded like a trapped animal. His eyes were full of dangerous light.
“I don’t know. I really don’t know…”
Garrett kicked him hard in the chest. The cold look on his face couldn’t be hidden.
Quick as anything, he walked up to Melody.
“Why did you do this?”
