How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 59

Yvan called Cornelia.

Cornelia was driving, in high spirits because the entire hospital was buzzing with rumors about Winifred being a homewrecker.

When she saw Yvan's name on her screen, she was thrilled.

Yvan never called her first.

She answered the phone, her voice soft and sweet. "Yvan, what's up?"

"Ms. Johnson, you told everyone today that I'm your boyfriend. What's that about?" Yvan's voice was cold. "I have never acknowledged you as my girlfriend. You've got some nerve, Ms. Johnson."

Cornelia hadn't expected this. "Yvan, you misunderstood. I just said it casually…"

"Casually? You can say something like that 'casually'?" Yvan sneered. "Ms. Johnson, you have seriously damaged both my reputation and Dr. Spencer's. I have evidence that you had someone deliberately edit a video and spread rumors. If you don't publicly clarify the truth tomorrow, don't blame me for handing this evidence over to the police and charging you with defamation. Then the whole state will know how the daughter of Zion Medical Center's Mr. Johnson bullies and slanders her colleagues."

With a screech, Cornelia slammed on the brakes.

"Yvan, don't!" she pleaded frantically. "I was wrong. I'll never tell anyone you're my boyfriend again."

"Are you still not getting it?" Yvan's voice was dark. "Listen to me, Cornelia. Winifred is very important to me. When you insult her, you're insulting me. If I don't see you clear her name and apologize to her in person by tomorrow, don't expect me to show any courtesy to Mr. Johnson."

Yvan hung up.

The car behind her honked impatiently, urging her to move.

Panicked, Cornelia pulled over to the side of the road.

She was furious and scared.
