How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 62

“Winifred…”

Winifred glanced at him, then at the pile of cigarette butts on the floor, and frowned. “Yvan, do you not understand English? I told you not to come looking for me. What is this?”

“Winifred, I just want to talk to you.” Yvan looked at her, his brows furrowed. “I have so many questions for you.”

Her face was a hard mask. “I have nothing to talk to you about. I’m going to take out the trash, and I don’t have time to waste on your nonsense.”

With that, she started down the stairs.

Yvan followed, staying with her all the way downstairs.

After she threw the trash away, Winifred turned to leave, but Yvan blocked her path. “Winifred, I really do have questions for you.”

Exasperated, Winifred crossed her arms, her posture screaming ‘stay away.’ “Fine. What do you want to ask?”

Yvan pressed his lips together. “Why did you lie to me that you were married with kids?”

“Because I didn’t want you hanging around me anymore,” Winifred answered instantly. “I don’t want to see you.”

A bitter smile touched Yvan’s lips. “Alright. You said you hate me, but I don’t understand why. What right do you have to hate me? You were the one who broke up with me.”

The mention of that sent Winifred right back to that summer day, the feeling of being plunged into an icy abyss still vivid.

She clenched her fists. “If I tell you, will you finally give up? Will you stop bothering me?”

Yvan was silent for a moment. “No. I want to get back together with you. Winifred, I still like you.”

A scornful look crossed her face. “You like me? Yvan, it’s been seven years. Why are you still trying to lie to me, to play with me? Do you think I’m that easy to fool?”
