How to Train Your Ex-Billionaire novel Chapter 64

Yvan paused, then chuckled. “I forgot to tell you. She’s single now, not some married woman.”

“What? She divorced for you?” Monica was shocked and angry. “Even if she’s divorced, it’s not acceptable. I will not allow a woman with such poor morals into our family!”

“What are you talking about?” Yvan said helplessly. “She was never married. She’s single. I misunderstood the situation before.”

“What?” Monica was taken aback. “Not married? But I heard she had a kid.”

“No. That child belongs to her colleague,” Yvan explained.

The reversal came so quickly that Monica was at a loss for words.

After a long pause, she finally said, “So you’re pursuing her now?”

“Yes,” Yvan nodded.

“So she’s not the other woman?”

Yvan frowned. “Who’s been gossiping to you?”

Monica looked a bit sheepish. “Cornelia came to see me today. She said she had a little conflict with your ex-girlfriend and wanted me to ask you to let it go.”

“Let it go? Not a chance,” Yvan said coldly. “She claimed to be my girlfriend, insulted Winifred by calling her a homewrecker, and spread an edited video all over the hospital. Now everyone there thinks Winifred is the other woman. I’m not letting this go unless she personally apologizes to Winifred in public and clears up the whole mess.”

Monica looked guilty. “But a few hours ago, I promised her that I’d make sure you wouldn’t sue her and that she wouldn’t have to apologize. Yvan, can’t you bend the rules a little? Otherwise, I’ll lose face.”

“Absolutely not!” Yvan refused flatly. “Why do you need to save face with her? She’s not your daughter-in-law. Stay out of this. If she calls, just tell her you can’t control me. I have to make things right for Winifred.”
