“No, thank you.” Winifred put more distance between them, her voice cold. “I believe I told you to stay out of my sight and that we should be strangers. Did you forget, Mr. Brown, or are you deliberately ignoring me?”

“Stop calling me Mr. Brown. It’s annoying,” Yvan frowned.

Winifred was exasperated. “Yvan, is that really my point?”

Yvan replied, “That’s better. Calling me Yvan, like you used to, sounds much nicer.”

Winifred shot him an angry glare and turned to leave.

Yvan quickly blocked her. “Wait, I’ll answer your question now.”

Winifred stopped, watching him cautiously, making it clear she would leave if he spouted any more nonsense.

Yvan looked at her. “I can’t be strangers with you. It’s impossible.”

“Our breakup seven years ago was just a misunderstanding. I’m willing to apologize. If you’re still upset, I’ll have Todd and Simon apologize to you too. I just hope you can give me another chance. Can we start over?”
