I Fought for His Future. Now I’m Fighting for Myself novel Chapter 14

Sean didn't die. At the last second, he moved aside, and the knife missed his heart by a fraction.

While he managed to save his life, his health was affected. He was far too weak now to handle the demands of his old work.

And just like that, he ended up losing his once-secure career. As for Kylie, there was no escaping the charges of aggravated assault.

But all these no longer had anything to do with Charlotte anymore.

After going through her postpartum confinement diligently, she threw herself right back into the intensity of boxing training.

Though Charlotte had been away from the ring for years, her solid foundation remained. Before long, she was standing out as one of the top boxers in the entire club.

Soon after, Tristan signed her up for an international competition.

The grueling preparation left Charlotte no time to think about anything else. By the time Sean and Kylie's gossip reached her ears, she had just secured her ticket to a heavyweight championship.

Tristan found himself completely captivated by the sight of her dazzling under the lights in the ring.

The first time he met Charlotte, his heart had raced. Back then, he believed it was merely admiration—the excitement of a coach discovering an exceptional female boxer.

Later, during the time in the hospital, Tristan had seen for himself how shameless Sean and Kylie had been. He thought the indignation and helplessness he'd felt was only sympathy for someone wronged.

However, he realized his gaze never stopped following her ever since he brought Charlotte back. Even his mood rose and fell with hers.

It wasn't until now that Tristan realized that what he felt was actually love.

"Congratulations, Charlotte. And also, I like you". Tristan could no longer contain his feelings by the time Charlotte returned backstage. He immediately took her hand and asked, "Will you be my girlfriend, Charlotte?"

Sweat trickled down his forehead due to nervousness, yet his bright gaze was fixed solely on her.

Charlotte was taken aback. After all the betrayal and heartbreaks she'd been through, she thought she'd never be able to love again. But the way her heart was pounding wildly told a different story.

Charlotte had been physically and emotionally exhausted when she first joined the club.

Tristan was the one who reached out to her. He trained with her and helped her to get to know the team, guiding her as she gradually started afresh.

His support in her career and his care in her daily life was the only lifeline Charlotte had when she was drowning in despair.
