When everyone finally realized what had happened, Rhea, the unbelievably tough mom–to–be, had already walked out of the delivery room herself.
Even the doctor was surprised. So far, this was the fastest delivery she’d ever seen.
The moment Rhea stepped out, she met George’s stunned gaze. She motioned to a bodyguard for her phone and called Louie.
Seeing the call come in barely half an hour after the last one, Louie hesitated before answering. Had he just interrupted someone giving birth?
Rhea was in such astonishingly excellent condition that Ruby didn’t even have time to feel proper heartache for her daughter’s pain. She’d thought she had to at least shed a tear out of respect for the greatness of childbirth, but Rhea merely flicked a hand and said, “Don’t cry. Come look at your grandson.”
Ruby was taken aback.
Only then did it sink in for everyone that Rhea had had a boy.
No one was happier about it than Liam. Ruby wanted to scold him, but there were too many people around.
Later that evening, once most of the visitors had left, she couldn’t help but snap, “You’re this thrilled to see Rhea have a boy?”
“I’m just happy for George and Steven,” Liam said. “They can’t act too excited, or people will read into it. Anyway, Rhea has given me a grandson. Isn’t that something to be happy about?”
Ruby was overjoyed, but she was worried that her in–laws would be the type to favor sons over daughters. Fortunately, neither George nor Steven had said a single thing about how great it was to have a grandson.
They were notably calm, barely fussing over the baby at all. Instead, they focused on Rhea’s health, afraid that the speedy delivery might leave hidden issues.
Rhea flew out on the sixth day after giving birth. She’d spotted a new project and had set her sights on it.

But Rhea didn’t seem to take their words to heart.
