I Refuse to Be Your Second Choice novel Chapter 112

The door slammed against the wall.

Startled, Camila turned and saw Natalie.

There was no trace of shame or fear in her eyes. She calmly sat up, a triumphant smirk playing on her lips.

"I was just visiting Alex. I didn't realize you'd be here," she said, dropping the pretense now that they were alone.

Natalie's gaze flickered over her for a second before landing on Alexander.

A flicker of surprise crossed his handsome face. "Natalie?"

He looked as if he hadn't expected to see her at all.

"I just came to get my things," Natalie said, her voice icy. "I didn't mean to interrupt. Please, continue."

She turned to leave.

Alexander scrambled to get out of bed, but the room spun and his head felt foggy. An instinctual panic urged him not to let her go.

"Oh, by the way," Natalie said, turning back at the doorway. "One week left. And I'm surprised, Ms. White. I slept in this bed. I didn't think you were the type to use someone's leftovers."

Her eyes glinted with a mocking smile before she walked out of the master bedroom without another glance.

Camila stomped her foot in fury. How dare she mock her!

"Natalie Watson!" Alexander shouted. As his mind slowly cleared, he realized there hadn't been two Natalies. It had just been Camila.

He tried to chase after her, but his body wouldn't obey. He had been drinking heavily since the previous night.

"Alex, let's get a new bed, okay?" Camila pleaded, helping him sit up.

A chilling glare shot toward her.

"How did you get in here?" he demanded.

Camila had never seen Alexander look at her like that. His eyes were so cold, it felt like they could flay her alive. She was terrified but forced herself to answer.

"I came to deliver a document for you. The door was unlocked, so I came in. You weren't in the living room, so I came upstairs and found you on the floor in the bedroom, completely drunk…"

Her voice trailed off toward the end.

"And then what?" Alexander's voice was bone-chillingly cold.

The one on top showed Eugene Ramirez pulling Natalie into his arms on a sidewalk, glaring coldly at Benjamin White across from them.

"Some paparazzi tried to blackmail the White family with photos of my brother," Camila explained. "I happened to see these among them, so I thought you should have them."

Alexander didn't speak, flipping from the first photo to the second.

It was the same street scene. Eugene was looking at Natalie with a gentle, surprised expression, while Benjamin stood nearby, looking furious.

Seeing his darkening expression and lack of response, Camila quietly prepared to leave again.

"Your brother was harassing Natalie?" Alexander finally spoke, his voice dangerously low.

"My father spoils him," Camila said. "But he didn't know about your relationship with Natalie. And with Eugene there, I doubt he'll dare to bother her again."

The name Eugene Ramirez grated on Alexander's nerves.

He looked up. "Starting today, your affairs are no longer my concern. I will also be issuing a public statement clarifying that you and I have no relationship."

No longer his concern? A public statement?

Camila panicked. She fell to her knees by the bed, her voice choked with sobs. "You're going to cut ties with me? You're not going to care about me anymore, Alex?"
